My SO and I went to Petit Bill's last night for an early dinner. This restaurant lives up to its reputation! I had the lobster poutine which was very tasty and I found the portion size perfect! It is a rather rich treat, so the fact that it is a smaller dish is great. I also had the caesar salad which was tasty, but I don't think I will order it again (I'm not much of a salad person). The SO had the Curry Cashew Chicken, and the first words out of their mouth was "OMG this is so good!" We had the bread pudding for dessert, which was very tasty, and I loved the addition of dried cranberries instead of raisins. We will definitely be going back again, and I am looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu.

I was looking forward to trying Petit Bill's given the positive reviews and Terry's interaction with the users of this site, and finally got to do so last Sunday for supper with my parents.

We had a great meal! My dad and I are both fish & chips aficionados so that's what we went for. I have to say this was the best rendition I've encountered in Ottawa so far. The fish, unlike pretty much any other place, was NOT overcooked! It was silky, flavourful, and we both couldn't get over how fluffy and light the batter was. The fries stayed nice and crispy until the end.

I also had the chowder to start, which I found quite thick and potato-ey. Don't think I would order this again as I like mine soupy, but the mussels in it were fantastic.

My mom had the Cornish game hen, and she pretty much cleaned her plate, which says a lot as she is a pretty picky, small portion eater.

The atmosphere was cozy, warm, and great for a chill Sunday evening.

Service was inobtrusive and efficient, as it should be. I even got to meet Terry himself!

Price was on par with the quality. No qualms there.

I don't get out to the Richmond Rd. area that much, but PBB is on my list of recommendations and I'll definitely want to try more seafood dishes next time.

I took my husband and son for dinner at Petit Bill's bistro. This place is always clean and it has nice, cosy atmosphere.

We got some slices of french baguette with smoky chipotle butter. We really liked the butter, so I will make something like that at home, maybe add some lime.

My husband and I had sweet potato and carrot soup.
Soup had just right amout of spice and garlic. My son had french onion soup. It was very hot and had rich flavour, great for Ottawa's cold winter days. It can be a meal if it is served in bigger portion.

I had a steak salad,
5oz O’Brien Farms AAA ribeye was perfect medium rare and tender. Some place don't know how to cook steak and often over cooked, so I usually order rare to get medium rare steak, but this time I didn't and I got very nice medium rare! julienne roasted Fennel was very refreshing, crisp prosciutto,I would use proscuitto dust instead, little too crisp for my mouth, tomato wedges, hard boiled egg & crumbled feta served with a charred spring onion vinaigrette. This vinaigratte was very tasty.

My son had Steak Frites,O’Brien Farms AAA Ribeye, crispy fried spicy peppers & onions Served with fresh cut frites & garlic mayo
and my husband had Almond Crusted Atlantic Salmon
served with roasted spiced sweet potato and fresh vegetables.Topped with a corn relish. I couldn't try their food because they didn't want to share.

We will return again soon.
Great restro for family and friends enjoy the meal together.

Finally went for lunch and brought the co-workers to sample the Lobster Poutine.

It was really good, the fries were finely chopped and the macarpone sauce was just perfect, not too heavy or salty leaving the lobster taste primary.

Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Hi cd, I understand what you're saying, I address every comment good or bad, usually I do it through a direct message (which I did but there was no response) to the poster but Bronzworld doesn't sign in very frequently. I just wanted to see what WE could do to make a bad situation better. I really hate to lose a customer when I could have had an opportunity to deal with the issue first hand
I certainly didn't mean to come across as confrontational, I would have appreciated to have addressed their concerns in person & in house rather than on a popular foodie site; there is very little I can do after the fact...

...i think it might be b/c some people don't like making a fuss
or being involved in a confrontation, as passive as it may have been. given the age of internet, it is much easier to leave remarks on a website rather than run the risk of an uncomfortable situation, as unlikely as it may have been in your friendly and respected restaurant.

Absolutely love the lobster poutine! A great deal for the money and very tasty!

My husband and i had a lunch today.
We heard about Petit Bill's has a reputation but food was disappointed.
I started with beets salad that it wasn't reasonable price, yellow beet was over over cooked and i paid $14.
We studied at Le cordon bleu, many friends recommended and they likes Lobster poutine.
It was soggy fries with broken sauce. I could taste any of Mascapone flavors. It was pretty gross.
I believe that ratings can be very deceptive.
But waitress was nice otherwise pricey and nothing special.

What more can I say that other's haven't already said? Lobster, on mascarpone cheese sauce, on fries, with lobster butter drizzled over top. I put some fresh ground pepper on mine to add a bit of zing, the only thing that could make this dish better would be... some fresh shaved truffles!

Lobster poutine: Chunks of lobster, broiled in butter with marscapone cheese sauce on top of delightly crispy yet tender shoestring fries. I first thought that the delicate flavour of the lobster would be overshadowed by the other flavours but boy was I wrong. This dish is amazing. Try it, that's all I can say.

They served Clocktower beer on draught here, a pale ale, apparently. I thought it was unusual to see their beer in an establishment other than their own, not necessarily an unwelcome addition! Very cool to see!

My partner and I got a pair of Bill's Burgers on a recent visit, and we both thought it was outstanding-- near, if not at the top of our list of Ottawa burgers. Definitely beats out a couple more expensive options elsewhere in town.

Super friendly service and owner, too. Have to make a point to come here more often.
