My second visit here was much better than my first because I ordered the lobster poutine. At $14, it was a generous enough portion to be a satisfying lunch. Decent pub fries, cheese curds, some small pieces of lobster, and a nice bisque as the gravy. I preferred this to other versions of this dish I've had because the taste of the lobster was not overwhelmed by the sauce.
Our server, Austin, was top notch. He helped suggest beer based on my preferences, even offering to bring me a sample and then returning with two samples, including the Newcastle Brown Ale that I went on to order. At some point I mentioned the disappointing sausage experience I'd had on my previous visit, and he ended up discounting a portion of my bill to make amends for that.
I love the huge selection of draught beers at this place. Now that I've found a menu item I enjoy, I'll be sure to return.
My husband and i had a lunch today.
We heard about Petit Bill's has a reputation but food was disappointed.
I started with beets salad that it wasn't reasonable price, yellow beet was over over cooked and i paid $14.
We studied at Le cordon bleu, many friends recommended and they likes Lobster poutine.
It was soggy fries with broken sauce. I could taste any of Mascapone flavors. It was pretty gross.
I believe that ratings can be very deceptive.
But waitress was nice otherwise pricey and nothing special.
What more can I say that other's haven't already said? Lobster, on mascarpone cheese sauce, on fries, with lobster butter drizzled over top. I put some fresh ground pepper on mine to add a bit of zing, the only thing that could make this dish better would be... some fresh shaved truffles!
Lobster poutine: Chunks of lobster, broiled in butter with marscapone cheese sauce on top of delightly crispy yet tender shoestring fries. I first thought that the delicate flavour of the lobster would be overshadowed by the other flavours but boy was I wrong. This dish is amazing. Try it, that's all I can say.
Unlike other lobster poutines I've had, a rich, cheesy and delicious lobster gravy is in place of a chowder like sauce. Plenty of curds and crisp fries make this an outstanding poutine that I order almost every time I visit.
