That photo literally has my mouth watering. I've wanted to check this place out for a while. Perhaps I'll take a drive this weekend : ) Thanks for the mouthwatering photos!

Snoopy Loopy - you are so right. Uploaded the wrong photo and completely missed it. Thanks for catching that.

Mini pulled pork sandwich from the Kitchen Sampler combo.

Piled high, very tender. BBQ sauce does not overpower the pork.

I'm no pulled pork expert, but that doesn't look like ANY pulled pork I've ever eaten :)

The pulled pork sandwich has consistently been tasty and made in a sweet BBQ sauce. The bread used seems to have changed over time but I have always been satisfied. It comes with a choice of side: soup, salad or fries. I had the salad with was drizzled with a raspberry dressing and covered in cubed beets, cucumber and tomatoes. Definitely recommend this sandwich!

I am SO going to make these corn muffins. The ones at Double D's made me sad, too, For corn lovers, I have a recipe for corn cookies from the Momofuku cookbook that I would like to post if someone can tell me where to post it. Or, you can find it on the Cooking Channel web site. They are out of this world good.

This is pulled pork that has been properly smoked and isn't overly sweet or wet. The portion I had was almost on the dry side but I quite like it that way and it was tasty.

Slaw was excellent: rough chopped cabbage strips and finely shredded carrot in a Thousand-Island-like dressing.

The mac and cheese was okay but not great. Quite velveeta-ish. I'd definitely try the beans next time.

The corn muffins made me sad. They were dryish and the only discernible flavour was a hint of smoke. I didn't even eat them all. A shame because mini corn muffins can be incredible! Like these: wiki.ottawafoodies.com

So a bit of a mixed bag, but totally worth trying. Great pulled pork and slaw!

Enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich last night here. The pulled pork was tender, juicy, and not too sweet. Sure, it lacked the wonderful crispy bits found in real charcoal BBQ but it was still good.

The sandwich was accompanied by a mountain of totally addictive salted brown thin fries. I could eat plates and plates of these! Dangerous in a good way.

The "brioche bun" was unnecessary and something I'll ask to be left off next time.

Had the pulled pork on a bun platter today. Although it isn't *real* pulled pork, it's probably the best slow-cooker version I've had. Super tender, with a good balance of smoke and sweet.

An interesting thing about pulled pork sandwiches: If you're in a rush, they're way quicker to eat than a hamburger because the meat is premoistened and prechewed. Win win! ;-)

The platter comes with their excellent coleslaw and fries. A nice little meal for $7.75 (tax in).

I've been to this place several times now, and can say I will not be returning. It has always been passable food, compensated by big screens for sporting events and a large patio on Elgin. The food was occasionally mediocre, but after my last experience where it was truly awful, no more.

I started to warm up to this place on St.Paddy's when I tried their new (at the time) pulled pork sliders. Delicious and fresh, as was the bacon-cheeseburger I order as a main.

I have since returned a few times expecting something in the vicinity of that level of quality. No dice.

This place either changes ownership regularly, which would explain the frequent changes in their food, or they are lousy at inventory and decide to substitute things when they are out of a particular item.

Example: the pulled pork (sliders or sandwiches) that I had enjoyed previously, this past Friday were served in a cheap, frozen-style pseudo-baguette versus the soft, fresh round bun ideal for this sandwich. But this wasn't the worst part.

This place never really had authentic pulled pork per se. It usually consisted of pretty big pieces of shredded pork, not even soaked in BBQ. But it was always decent and tasty with a tangy vinegary BBQ sauce. This time: large, unsightly pieces of pork, mostly gristle, no semblance to pulled pork at all. And dry as heck, hardly any sauce, even added afterward.

The fries in this place are brutal. I normally opt for the salad which is usually passable, as the sweet potato fries are lousy (the bright orange colour looks so fake as tastes the vulgar sweetness), not to mention the battered fried onion chips which are greasy as heck.

So, in short, never stepping foot here again.

I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich with house salad as my main, and since I was busy chatting and drinking a delicious Caesar, I didn't read the menu that carefully apparently, because I was surprised when the sandwich came rolled and deep-friend like a chimichanga, with the homemade blueberry barbecue sauce on the side. It was a pleasant surprise though, since it turned out to be delicious! The pork on its own may have been a little dry, but with the punchy barbecue sauce it was just right. OK, not the healthiest meal, but the house salad (with chickpeas and an Asian-inspired dressing) was enough antioxidants to counter the sandwich. Worth it!

My brother very much enjoyed his Pulled Pork sandwich. The pork was flavourful and tender and the Art-Is-In multigrain baguette was of course excellent.

at first i was taken aback by the price ($17 for a medium container) of this pulled pork, but in the end, it made four good-sized sandwiches. we did them on toasted brown baguette with sauteed onions and crumbled blue. the flavour of the pork was exquisite -- far better than any other in this town.

the piggy market's bacon, on the other hand, did not live up to it's promise. bacon fat is splendid and relevant, yes, but - and i can't believe i'm saying this - there was too much. for that price, i would have liked a better ratio of meat to fat. and the flavour just didn't compensate.

We got a package of pulled pork from the farmer's market. It was about $7.50 for a pack that made 3 sandwiches. I think that's a pretty good price. I'm not sure if the meat was seasoned, or it was just really flavourful. We were wishing we had bought more at the time, so we'd definitely get this again.

After a really horrible pulled pork experience at Buster's Bar and Grill (way too sweet, meat was mush, on a ciabatta like bun with lettuce?!? wtf), I went to Jean Albert's to rectify the situation. After hearing they were reopening this weekend after extensive plumbing repairs, they were offering a pulled pork sandwich special so I had to take a drive...

For $8.99, you got: a homemade biscuit like bun, a mound of homemade, smoky, tangy, pulled pork, with coleslaw served on top and some crinkle cut fries. This sandwich was awesome, best I've had in Ottawa outside of my own kitchen. I think it should be a regular menu item. Good news is - they appear to be hiring staff for Bluesfest! That's almost a reason in and of itself to go to Bluesfest.
