Where to get Hummus

Really, it's hard to beat a good home-made hummus. My friend shared her secret ingredient with us once, and it was plum paste/puree. Generally you can find it in with the organic or speciality stuff at most of the larger grocery stores.

I just had Hummus from Shawarma Palace Carling location too, and it was wonderful! I've never been found of Hummus, but this was not offending to my taste senses. As fresh foodie said, it was a perfect balance. I think I will come here for a Hummus fix. I was also fortunate that my chicken was from the new cone and was juicy!

The hummus here is particularly top notch! Creamy and rich, with a perfect balance of lemon and garlic. I had an order for a light supper before a movie. They offer you 1 or 2 pitas with it -- 2 is barely enough even if you scoop big. I can't imagine someone eating all that hummus with only one pita. You'd need a spoon!

The hummus was quite good and was served with pita and other chips. What struck me as unique about this hummus is that it wasn't perfectly blended, so you got a bit of the texture of the chickpea in your mouth, rather than a generic dip. The hummus was defined by both the flavour and texture, instead of just the former. Very tasty.

H&S has a huge selection of hummus right when you walk in. i think there were at least 8 or 9 different varieties to choose from including the local contemporary cuisine brand.

Herb and Spice has a nice selection of hummus. I've always enjoyed whichever kind I selected.

This has been consistently good. Not the pre-packaged stuff, but at the cheese-etc counter. Cheaper than those little wee tubs usually are, too.

Excellent for pigging out on their produce. (Or their produce is excellent for pigging out on the hummus...)
