ottawa foodies

We will be hosting a party to celebrate our wedding later this year. I am planning on doing either mini-cakes or cup-cakes and I am looking for some affordable mini-wedding cake/cup cake toppers, preferably edible ones. I have found some on the internet but was wondering if anyone has any idea where to find them in Ottawa. Here is the one site I have been too:

Thanks CC. I was actually at Artistic Cake Design yesterday and unfortunately, they did not have anything. I also tried Michaels on Bank a few weeks back and struck out there too.

A wild shot here but what about the chocolatier on Dalhousie? Um, what's their name again?

You said for cupcakes, right? so is each going to have a topper? because that will be a lot of toppers, and potentially a lot of money?

Swiss Pastries does nice marzipan and sugar toppers, and can probably do special orders, such as a monogram.

Also, bulk barn has been my best friend for our wedding so far.

Medicine Jar - When I saw this post I immediately thought of something I saw on tastespotters website yesterday... Ok, it's Curious George, but the concept I'm thinking would be the same. I'm guessing the cut-out is probably marzipan, would think that either a cake decorator or a candy maker could do this type of thing for you. I would imagine your cut-out could be any shape you'd like, and more money if you add details (more layers) to the cut-out.

another idea depending on what time of year you do it. for our winter wedding we served cupcakes and for toppers had white chocolate snowflakes made. i will try to add a picture if i can find one (it was 7 years ago). the snowflakes were very thin and sat ontop of the icing. very yummy!
