Panaeng Curry with vegetables instead of chicken or beef.

Did not try it, but I figured I would post a review from someone online. However, I asked for sticky rice and they did not have any - so, that's why I didn't end up getting it.

Here's a link to another person's review:

Spring Roll King on Rideau

Tried an order of the Panang curry with chicken last week from this place -- one of those late nights at work and didn't feel like cobbling together something from the fridge.

Very impressed. Fairly generous order (got 4 meals out of it for $10...but that's the miser instinct of a formerly penniless grad student. Probably should only stretch to 2, maybe 3, meals.) Nice flavouring, with every bite bringing a slightly different combination out. Good for spiciness level too -- bit of zing but again not so hot that the subtler flavours of coriander and lime leaves were lost.

Had an order of veg spring rolls too and happy to find that they were tasty, crisp but not greasy. At $1.20 each, good value.

Curious if anyone else has tried this place and what they had and thought, if so. They pride themselves on 3 kinds of cuisine -- Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese -- but Chinese and, to a lesser extent, Thai seemed to dominate the menu. And not an overly adventurous menu at that, but if my one order is any indication, may be a good reliable stop for conventional favourites.

Will try something meatless next time to report back
to you veggies! There's an eggplant curry on the menu that called to me.

In any case, within the takeout genre, makes a nice change from the ubiquitous shawarma.

This was the richest red coconut chicken curry that I've ever had. It was loaded with strips of tender chicken and thick with coconut base. It was not overpoweringly spicy and it was worth every penny.

Underneath the loads of chicken, veggies, peanuts and hot sauce was a delicious panaeng curry and loads of rice. This was a good dish but it could have been slightly more seasoned and spicy for my tastes but the selection of hot sauces more than made up for it.

The presentation was great with a nice salad arrangement and decorative carrots. The rice was soft and warm. The dish itself was flavourful and a bit spicy. It could have been medium spicy. I eat spicy so I don't really notice. ;) It's among the best in the city and I have tried a lot of panaeng chicken.
