Alas, Kingston's Lick's closed many years ago (the one on Princess, down near the waterfront). I lived there when it closed - now I live in Ottawa, and that one's closed too. I accept full responsibility.
OK, not really. But it seems Lick's thrives only in the GTA.
Yes, this is terrible news. Lick's burgers were the best in town. As F-i-H pointed out though, you can get the frozen ones if you look around. Food Basics has them too.
Well... we can just hope that someone else buys the franchise or sets up a new one. Or you can drive to Kingston. ;-)
that's really heartbreaking - we've been to the Works a few times and have been disappointed each time. We were going to try Lick's next time we were craving burgers :(
I noticed that there is a line of Lick's burgers in the frozen section of some stores - the last time I saw them was in the Shopper's Drug Mart on the corner of Merivale and Carling.
The fries at Lick's are nothing special. They use grated cheese for their poutine instead of curds. But what really gets my goat is that this poutine is expensive!
Lick's Nature Burgers are sold in the freezer section of Metro and some Loblaws. I find these to be the best burgers and you can easily cook them on the bbq or george foreman grill.
