Exquisite food! My partner and I frequent Fratelli's in the Glebe and are always pleased. The menu is quite large, and creative for an Italian restaurant and they have great wines. I ordered the special, sweet potato ravioli in a sage alfredo sauce, and my girlfriend ordered the Cannelloni. Both meals were great, but the ravioli was by far the best (even if it was a little salty). We also split a bruschetta (I recommend for all) and the anchovy salad (very light and very strongly flavoured). The price was a little high for us students; over 100$ for apps, mains, and wine/cocktails, but it is well worth it. I have yet to try the other locations, but the food and service in the Glebe is superb.
I just learned today that a Fratelli is opening up beside the Second Cup on Springfield in New Edinburgh!! Sooo excited! I checked their website to make sure...and yes, it's true.
Does anyone have any idea when it will be opening?
Yesterday I was here for dinner. My appetizer was good: calamari alla puttanesca(squids in a very tasty tomato sauce with chili peppers, black olives and capers). In this pictures you can see my sea bream special served with rice. Nothing of really amazing. This fish wasn't fresh so it wasn't tasty and rice was too dry. I think you can find better fish somewhere else.
I had a Chardonnay delle Venezie Collavini 2005. Good wine to pair with fish dishes. Pale straw colour; citrus, green apple, melon aromas with herbal and mineral notes; dry with crisp acidity and flavours of Asian pear, apple and juicy citrus; good length on the finish. It costs 27$.
