Just enjoyed one of their Autumn Harvest Poutines, one of a few things on their 'Harvest Menu.' It sounds like the formula hasn't changed from last year and it shouldn't. Very delicious combo of stuffing, curd, gravy, regular and sweet potato fries. $6 for a small and $8 for a large if I remember correctly.

I was a little unsure where this was in Carp (not that it would take you too long to explore and find it) and I couldn't get it to pop up on Google Maps right away but here is the address:

405 Donald B Munro Dr, Carp, ON K0A 1L0

First-rate. Would not have expected salads topped with goat cheese and fresh berries at a chip stand -- was surprised at how well that went down when my mind was thinking 'Fried food, please, lots of fried' as one tends to when at a chip wagon.

And the fries are lovely. Good for them for offering a combination of half potato fries and half sweet potato fries; the sweet potato fries are, of course, just perfect, but the regular fries are quite nice too. Both are thin and crispy. Even people who don't like sweet potatoes will like the sweet potato fries here; they've clearly found some sort of fiddle that makes them just so. They are crisp _but not dry_ like the usual sort of crisper sweet potato fry.

All three dips are impressive. Really, try the dips.

The people running this little spot are super-nice, too, and there's plenty of seating with a nice view of Carp. This is kind of a chip wagon lover's dream spot, and totally worth the trip.

Another lunchtime visit saw us enjoying the seasonal Autumn Harvest Poutine, which combined sweet potato and regular fries under a topping of stovetop stuffing, cheese curds, and turkey gravy. Very cool to see a chip wagon innovating like this!

Their last day of the 2010 season will be Halloween, October 31st. They will be offering most of their menu items at a 50% discount that day. They close at 4pm on Sundays.

I visited with a carload of coworkers on a beautiful sunny day. This chip wagon is in an attractive location and seems to have enamoured itself to quite a few regular customers.

Service, via food is YUM at the order window, was friendly and enthusiastic. We'll definitely be back!

The price has risen slightly ($5 small, $7 large) but they offer combo deals to ease the pain. This time I was really happy with the taste of the gravy! Honestly, I can't say whether it's me or the gravy that's changed since last time. Anyway, I don't believe I've had a better Poutine west of Merivale Road.

This was a Small Poutine ($4.50). While not bad overall (I've had better curds and gravy at other places) the fries were really top-notch! I'm totally looking forward to eating more of them next time I go. Vinegar and ketchup FTW!

A coworker went for the sweet potato fries (with Chipotle dip). He absolutely loved them! I sampled them myself and was impressed. I'm not usually big on sweet potato fries but these were just great. Nice and crispy, which is unusual. Highly recommended.

The Jumbo Hot Dog here is tasty and well-priced at $2.50. Plenty of condiments are available to spruce it up and make it your own! The wieners look to be impressive 8-inchers!

A big plus for them using a seperate fryer for their regular fries. The sweet potato fries contain gluten, however their regular fries are gluten free and fried in a seperate fryer. Important info for those with celiac's.

I see all the comments on this page are from me! ;-) On my first visit this season, food is YUM explained that they've improved their bacon. Yes they have, it is thicker and tastier and that makes a huge difference! Now I was able to taste bacon in every bite and even the cheese seemed more generous. The "Whistle" has been reinstated!

Full disclosure: I was given a free upgrade from regular to whistle dog in recognition of the feedback I gave last season.

I was excited to try the Whistle Dog here, and may have set my expectations too high. It's a nice big hot dog, but at $4.50 ($2 more than the non-whistle jumbo dog) it didn't have enough "whistle." The flavour of the bacon didn't really come through, and the wiener seemed to have been deep fried but was unexpectedly non-greasy -- almost dry. Still, worth a try if you're a fan of bacon-cheese dogs.
