The Goods
The Glebe Emporium opened on Bank and First in 1992, and in 1997, the Paderno cookware company purchased the store as a factory outlet. In fact, the Glebe Emporium is the largest seller of the Paderno line in the country. Customers make special trips to Ottawa just to go to the store and take advantage of the special sales and products that the Glebe Emporium has to offer. Whether you are a student or new homeowner stocking up you kitchen utensils, a professional chef looking for the finest products, or someone who just loves to cook, the Glebe Emporium is your kind of store.

Best Buys
The store offers the finest and most unique items available, often importing from Europe to get the best and finest quality merchandise to their client base. While some of the products are more expensive, you can be assured that the price is worth it, since the merchandise will last longer and give better results than stock that might be more affordable and accessible elsewhere. Henckels knives, Libbey glassware, Bodum coffee makers, Chicago Metallic bake ware, and Pfaltzgraff dishware are just some of the recognizable brand names GE carries. In addition to offering quality bakeware and kitchen gadgets, GE carries a huge assortment of dishes, stemware, cutlery, and textiles to make your place settings elegant, colourful and inviting. Also on hand is a large collection of cookbooks, and the selection of baskets are always popular. For those requiring assistance, the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about cooking and the stock they carry. The Glebe Emporium is a fun and interesting place to shop; I dare you to go in and not walk out with at least one item.

Great shop for Kitchen Gadgets (and anything else you can think of when it comes to Kitchenware, Cookware, Dining, Barware, Linens and Décor). Part of the experience of going to Glebe Emporium is the building itself... things in every nook & cranny and wonderful wide plank wood floors that squeak.

On a recent trip, I was especially happy to find stainless steel escargot / seafood forks. I have searched thru countless houseware departments, and local cookware stores since Christmas looking for these. The Glebe Emporium is Ottawa's number one place to buy Paderno Cookware, so I couldn't help myself and checked out the collection. I've fallen in love with the covered roasting pans (now I just gotta save up some serious cash).
