Key Limes [General]

I have a customer looking for key limes or key lime juice. Does anyone know where she can find some? I have seen key limes at Farm Boy from time to time. Is there a big difference in the taste from regular limes? (She would prefer the juice as apparently key limes are quite small and it's a lot of work to squeeze them all!)

They DO have a different flavour ~ more tart and bitter and aromatic with a higher acidity. I think most larger grocery stores have them now (usually small mesh bags of a dozen). My local YIG (Hartman's at Bank & Somerset) does...and the juice in bottles as well.

I recently saw fresh key limes at Loblaws. Wasn't aware that juice was marketed as well... interesting to know.

I believe you can buy bottled Key Lime juice at Grace on Bank street. Can't say for sure because I haven't shopped there in awhile.

If you roll the whole fruit around on the counter with your palm before cutting, poke 'em with a fork and zap in the microwave for about 20 seconds you get loads more juice.

Herb and Spice on Wellington usually has key limes.

I've seen key limes on a regular basis at the College Square Superstore/Loblaws. You can find the key lime juice in a bottle at places like Grace foods or other afro-caribbean grocery stores. The zest has a distinctly zingy taste to it - key lime/lemon/citrus tarts are probably one of my favourite baked goods.

Thank you everyone - I will pass along all the great information, (and I suggested she check out this site!)
Thank you OliversRock for the juicing information. We use a lot of fresh limes in our sangria at home, so I will definitely try your suggestion.
Next time I see a bag of key limes I will make sure I pick them up to try too.
Thanks again!
