New Openings 2014 (continued) [Site]

Fresh Foodie I know you are working on it but may I make the additional suggestion of disabling the "create new topic..." comment at the end previous thread or something like that to prevent people from continuing multiple new threads? Because we now have two threads continuing from the last one - this one and the "New openings and closings 2014" one...

Yes, when search-engine spiders come by and load a forum page with hundreds of postings (with photos), site performance takes a hit.
There's also the "dead horse" theory of forums. After the first 30-50 postings, there is either a need for a new topic or the old topic is beyond the point of useful discussion.
Personally, I'd prefer to see separate forum topics like "Macarons et Madeleines moving to Wellington West" and "Domus Cafe closing" over the arbitrary and non-specific "Openings/Closings 2014". But this is a community driven site and everyone is free to create whatever topics they wish. :)

Brampton Meats.
Has anyone tried this place yet ?
They're Yelping and Urbanspooning big-time about it.
Looks good ... at a good price. Marinated meats ... ready for the gas grill.
Probably in the spot where Andy's South East Asian Grocery store was.

The "new Indian restaurant on Ogilvie Rd" is located beside the Electrical and Plumbing Store just east of St. Laurent Blvd. It is called Palki Cuisine of India. It's been open for a couple of months (lunch and dinner). At first there didn't seem to be anyone there but yesterday when I drove by at lunchtime you could see people eating at the tables by the front window. I don't know anyone who has eaten there.

There is a new upscale take-out place situated in kind of a funny spot on Maitland Ave at Woodward, right by the Queensway exit called Take-Away Gourmet. They have ready-made meals, packaged meals, soups, fancy coffee and slushies, etc. I had two very good paninis here. The specials look very interesting, and all seem to be made with upmarket ingredients, stuff like lobster cannelloni, braised lamb shank, maple salmon fish cakes, lobster rolls, beef stroganoff, bouef bourguignon, etc. There are picnic tables in the back if you want to eat there too. Nice option in the neighbourhood or if you work in the Carlington industrial park.

@lemontart, yes that is the name of the Indian Place, thanks for reminding me. "Palki Cuisine of India"
I found their website:
palkicuisineofindia.com/
I notice they have a lot of vegetarian dishes.
