How often do you order delivery/take out? [General]

Just curious how often you order in/take out and what do you order?

I'm currently trying to stop my weekly chinese food habit of ordering a combination plate and wonton soup and my weekly St Hubert's quarter chicken dinner with fries.

I think we probably order something every couple of weeks? We skew heavily towards getting delivery shawarma from Shawarma's King, or take-out Hintonburger. Man, just thinking about them makes me hungry :)

Too damn often, at least once a week. On the other hand we we don't actually dine out (in the restaurant) that frequently. Also we normally order enough to have leftovers for the next night.

Usually one of these fine establishments will usually get my business
Vietnamese (Vietnam Palace)
Chinese (Harmony Restaurant)
Indian (Host India)
And when the new ZaZaZa opens by Lansdowne, then that will be added to the list.

In fact we have some nice Vietnamese leftovers waiting at home tonight ...

Cheers,
Ratty

We've broken our takeaway addiction and probably only order out something like once every couple of weeks. When we do, it's usually pizza from Lorenzo's or curry from India Palace.

Instead, we appear to have replaced it with eating out more regularly - two or three times a week at the moment.

We are doing renos, so eating out too much. Our rotation seems to be one of these places each week:
Hintonburger (delivery)
Lorenzo pizza (pick-up)
Sushi-Go (Glebe location, pick-up)

Maybe once a month, at most. We love to cook and we're trying to save money for more important things, so we don't do takeout very often. When we do, it's usually a pizza from Milano's or shawarma from Istanbouli. Occasionally I'll treat myself to some sushi.

We order Pizza from Colonnade Road Pizza (not Colonnade pizzeria) about every two weeks or so, and occasionally do takeout from Shaan on Merivale or a rotisserie chicken from Costco. Sometimes from Farmboy. Farmboy has "Trio" deals that let you pick one main and two sides for $9, and in our experience the sides are large enough to serve 2. Last week I had a really nice pork tenderloin with mustard cream sauce, glazed root vegetables and butternut squash risotto. Not bad for the price and a quick reheat at home. The pork tenderloin is usually done to medium, so it stays tender and juicy even when you reheat it.

I am terribly addicted to take-out, partly because I have the cooking skills of a liberal arts student: pasta, ramen, and frozen dinners.

When I was living downtown, I used to eat take-out (or out-out) seven days a week. Shawarma King, Pizza Shark / Seasons Pizza, McDonalds, Greek-on-wheels, Pancho Villa, Chinese, and lots upon lots of pub fare. I figured the local grocery was so limited in selection and grossly overpriced, I might as well just eat out all the time, and instead of cooking I can log a few more billable hours.

Since moving to Nepean I've been largely b0rked! I haven't really found anything awesome out here in terms of take-out or delivery. In fact, I've spent the past hour trying to decide where to order from, but now 3 months in, I can only think of two or three places that don't royally suck. I guess that's one way to lose weight ;)

Hey now! I'm a liberal arts student and -- let me tell you -- that I put all the time I don't need to spend studying because I took an easy major into cooking. And now, while I have to be at work in less than an hour, I just finished making some delicious Chilaquiles for breakfast. Throw an egg on that and we're in business.

I almost never get take-out as a lot of it is just ok and the price is not low enough for the quality (compared to other restaurants) and that in small groups it can be hard to hit the minimum delivery order. Or food gets cold. Plus, there's no real way to address issues (e.g. realizing they missed a dish once the delivery guy has left). I'd rather just eat my own food and then go out on occasion for a nice dinner where I don't have to do anything.

We have take-out about 2-3 times a month but have to admit that some months it is more than that depending on how lazy I feel. Our usual spots are Shaan for indian food, Colonnade Pizza on Merivale or Mandarin Court for chinese (all really good - only Mandarin Court has delivery). Have gone to Nando's a couple of times and like it - the chicken is good and I like the rice they have. Once in a while we'll pick up something at the Merivale Fish Market.
