ottawa foodies

Does anyone know where Shirataki Konjac noodles can be found in Ottawa? I've been looking for them for a while with no luck so far! Thanks!

Are these different than the standard yam noodles? From the description they look similar? If they are the same I've purchased in China town.

i think Sourdough's right - u should be able to find them somewhere on Sommerset. And, at risk of overselling this vendor, Win Tai Market also carries them - going on the basis of a $1.49 price tag on the year-old bag tucked into the bottom of my fridge. Let me know if you have a good recipe so i can finally put mine to use. :-)

Almost any grocery in Chinatown on Somerset has them. You can also order them from the Low Carb Grocery in Toronto at a reasonable price:

They last forever (without refrigeration), because they have zero calories in them.

They also have slightly different spellings, depending on who translated the word to a phonetic alphabet. I have some labelled "konnyaku noodles".

Yup... to echo the previous posters, you can get them in almost every Asian food store. My favourite store is Wa Kiu, so I'll shill it here... in their fridge section on the left hand side of the store at the end of the aisle.

I think I saw it at Metro (Kanata March Rd) beside tofu...no, maybe it was Sobey's on March Rd...

maybe Natural Food pantry or Kardish- seems like something they would carry.

Surprised there is no PC version yet....!

Does UNI food mart in Vanier beside the Emerald Buffet carry these?

Pretty sure T&T sells them in the open fridge aisle where the juice, milk, etc is located along with the fresh noodles.
