Cheapest quinoa [General]

Kardish and grocery stores like Loblaws and Farm Boy charge a lot for quinoa! Do you know a place that sells quinoa at a better price? Thanks!

I've found it to be cheaper at the People's Food Co-op at the corner of Wilbrod and Friel. It's sold in bulk for $7.95/kg (about $3.60/lb). At bulk barn I think it's about twice as much and I'm not sure what the going price is at loblaws, but I think it's almost twice as much as well... correct me?

If anyone has a cheaper source, I'm happy to hear it as well.

I find Bulk Barn to be way overpriced. You can buy the same stuff (candy for example) for about half the price at Wal-Mart or Loblaws.

We buy it regularly at costco. It's much cheaper than the FarmBoy/Loblaws pricing. I'll have to double check but I believe it's a 1.3/kg bag for 9$

Thank you all! Bulk Barn is charging $1.32 per 100 g, which comes to exactly $6.00 per lb. Sandy Hill People Food Coop charges $0.80 per 100 g, much better!

If you can get yourself in with an ONFC buying group you can get a 11.34kg bag for $60.

OK - I'll bite: what is an ONFC buying group? :)

You just need to punch "ONFC" into the little search box up there :-)

Here, I just posted an article I wrote for my blog some time ago

Forum - Bulk Buying Groups

I posted the whole thing so I would not be accused of just wanting to drive traffic off this site to mine :-)

FYI the Mid-East Food Market at Belfast/St. Laurent has red or white organic quinoa @ $9.99/kg ($4.04/lb) in 2 lb bags, and red lentils @ $5.26/4 lb bag - soup season is here, no?

August pricing w/ Mountain Path was $74.32/11.34kg (most recent price catalogue I have), but could be different now. It's worth contacting them. Buying clubs need only a min $300 order for free delivery within Ottawa, and it's really easy to hit that.
