where to get non-sugarfree Fresca? [General]

2009 Nov 6
I've developed a real appreciation for grapefruit(toronja) sodas while traveling in Mexico, but I can't seem to find any here in Canada. The closest thing I can find at Loblaws is sugarfree Fresca, but it just doesn't taste as good as the sugared kind.

La Tiendita on Merivale stocks Jarritos, though I can't recall if they have grapefruit. Worth checking out.

I think that place in the market has them... the Mexican resto in the basement area... for some reason the name escapes me. Not good if you are looking to stock up, but good if you want to enjoy some food while you're at it.

snoop i believe you are referring to Ahora. and yes, they have Jarritos too.

great soda!

I'm not even sure Fresca with sugar exists... I always thought Fresca, by definition, was sugar free. Can anyone confirm or correct?

I think you are correct Saurian- Fresca was introduced as an alternative to diet cola.

The only thing that is similar is Wink or maybe Ting.

Thanks, PB.

It might just an American thing, but I tried Sierra Mist the last time I visited my boyfriend in New York and it was quite grapefruity (and had sugar in it).

Loblaws sells a grapefruit soda (sugar and sugar free) under their PC brand. Throw in some salt, limes and tequila and you can have your palomas...

sugared Fresca does not exist
but a cherry-grapefruit flavour of Fresca does
(BIG Fresca fan)

look for Ting!
can be found at Grace on Bank Street
it's a Caribbean/Asian food store

I grew up on that stuff and is actually better than Fresca for flavour
btb there is a sugar-free Ting! but Grace does not carry it :'(

I've always thought that Fresca tasted like a sugar free version of Mountain Dew

Thanks for all the tips everyone! Of course, how I could forget Ting! I'll check the Jarritos...I've seen limon, but not toronja, at the SuperC.

Where in the city can you buy the cherry Fresca? It is very hard to find. I will randomly see it once in awhile :(

+1 for Ting!

Ever since I visited Jamaica I buy Ting as a treat wherever it's sold.
