Looks like Black Cat Bristro is creating a lot of buzz... according to Ottawa Magazine. Among the news, Rod Phillips wine guru for The Ottawa Citizen will give wine classes there.

Needless to say, I'll be first in line when Chef Vardy makes his glorious return. I had the S2 experience at Beckta once back in the day and *STILL* have heady dreams of carrot syrup and "bacon and eggs."

(DISCLAIMER: I also really like what Chef Moffatt's doing at Beckta. Great food; just less whimsy.)

I never made it down to the Black Cat Cafe in the market, so I'm extremely eager to try them once the Preston St location is open. It's a great location for me (I work on Preston St) and I'll definitely be making it down for lunch AND dinner :) It's even more exciting now because Vardy will be there - likely not cooking at lunch, but I'm much looking forward to the Vardy dinner experience. James and I have only made it to Beckta once, and almost certainly after Vardy had left.

Sign me up! I need to take a break from the drudgeries of governmental work to get some experience in a real kitchen. I will work for free. For a week.
