Went in Sunday afternoon, around 3-ish. We were looking to try the soft serve, but was told there was no soft serve at all. The vanilla was not available, but they could serve the chocolate but it would be in a cup like the sundae version. We decided to try the vanilla milkshake instead.

It was the best vanilla shake I have had. Fantastic, lots of real vanilla flecks. It seemed to be made from ice cream from the soft serve machine - maybe the vanilla was too soft to be served as is, but ok for milkshakes? I don't know, but it was great. It is a medium size and was $4.50 with tax.

I'll be back to try it in a cone/cup next time.

None of the baked goods appealed to me.

The milkshakes are expensive on their own but you do get a lot, and they can be ordered as part of a combo meal. Banana and black cherry are my favorites. Sometimes I wish they would add new flavors (but don't take away the old ones! they're excellent!) -- I think technically they could make a shake out of any of their ice cream flavors, which would be neat.

Be careful if you get a burger and fries combo with a milkshake. The portions are generous and a serious calorie overload if you eat it all at once. I have gone into a food coma from doing this!

strawberry milkshakes @ dick's. most places forget to top it up with the maraschino cherry accoutrement as THE perfect finishing touch.

it's ALL about THE cherry...

strawberry milkshakes @ dick's. transport yourself through the space-time continuum to those 1950s malt shoppes with elvis singing in the background and not a care in the world... life was simpler and more beautiful. retro kewlness indeed.

the serving was generous with extras in the stainless steel mixing cup included alongside. this made me mozy down over without further ado to buy a retro milkshake mixer for my kitchen.

Three cheers for the shakes - huge servings at decent prices. My wife and I both really enjoyed ours.

The shakes are made the old-fashioned way, from milk and hard ice cream. Each shake is served in a traditional milkshake glass, with the remaining milkshake on the side in the steel container.

Yummy! Reminded me of my youth : )

The 2-cup Oreo Cookie milkshake was the high point of my meal. Very nice indeed.

Wifey's kid size (1-cup) Creamsicle shake was awesome too. Note that this was the "flavour of the day" and when I asked our server why someone should choose the flavour of the day she replied, "Because it's delicious and you get some vitamin C." Quick thinking on her part. :-)

They have tons of flavours! My favourite is the chocolate peanut butter milkshake. The burger and side itself is already a large enough meal so go for the kids size shake!

Love the milkshakes here. They are huge! One glass full along with the rest in a metal cup that nearly fills your glass again. Made with lots of ice cream.

Just came back from Zak's and tried their chocolate shake. From all the hype about their shakes I was left feeling apathetic with the bland taste and just found it to be ok tasting.

Soooo many flavours! They are a little pricey (5.49) BUT, well worth it. A dessert I crave indeed.

The banana chocolate milkshake at the diner is quite possibly the best diner shake out there. Pass on the poutine, go for the milkshakes.

They're smaller and less rich than classic diner style shakes, but I really enjoyed the oreo cookie flavour.
