This place has been closed for a while. Renovations started a couple of months ago, but the signs were still up, so I thought maybe someone had bought the business and would reopen it. Now the signs have been taken down, and new lettering in the window indicate that it will be a Lebanese restaurant called Beirut. Possibly a better fit for the area, price wise (most people living in the area have a limited budget).

Great question!
I was too focused on the food to remember the flooring. I remember looking outside a lot and thinking the neighbourhood needed work to match the restaurant.
The atmosphere did feel a little 'cottagey', no sexy dim lighting, or elegant curtains or anything. Comfy though.
The food distracts you I guess!

Has there been any change in the decor at Le Panache? While we have always thought the food was a great deal, we found the room to feel musty (like the rugs should be changed etc..) We were very uncomfortable dining there but really miss the food. We would love the opportunity to return!

This place is a wonderful little diamond in the rough.
Their food and meals have such quality to them and you wouldn't expect that coming from a little corner restaurant in a dirty part of Vieux Hull.
I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. I felt I was treated with great respect, the food was fresh and was explained very well. The flavours were awesome and the choice was way more extensive than I ever would have imagined for a place in Hull.
I will def be coming back.
Definitely try the escargots if you come here, and the foie gras for apps!
Check out www.harringtons.ca for a longer review.

Their table d'hote (4-course meal, starting at $42) consisting of soup/salad, cold/hot appetizer, main course, yummy dessert and coffee/tea is the best deal. Each dish was beautifully presented!

We received very professional and courteous service in addition to a wonderful meal (my friend said that their service was way better than Perspectives at Brookstreet).

If you haven't tried this restaurant, I recommend that you go try this place one day.

Try their pumpkin soup, escargots (hot appetizer), rack of lamb, chocolate mousse cake or pistachio tart or basil ice cream, and completed by a cup of hot cappuccino. Yummy Yummy!

Note: Ask not to sit in the area that is close to the main door. May be a bit cold for the ladies who wore dresses.

I have to agree that their escargots are very good. Very nice presentation too!

Amazing, with the Gorgonzola :S I've always been a big fan of Gorgonzola though, presented very nicely with some thyme, the Escargot in Gorgonzola Sauce is just mouth watering, served in a flaked pastry and drenched in Gorgonzola YUM!

My friend recommended me to try their pistachio tart. So I tried it. But the taste was okay. I preferred the chocolate mousse cake that my husband had (can't find the photo).

This was the crepes with banana and chocolate that my friend ordered.

This is to DIE for.
Foie Gras in a not-too-sweet chocolate sauce with crispy fresh pears. Oh my gosh, too good!
You must try this if you come here.

The rack of lamb was highly recommended by our friends. Yes. Very good indeed with very nice presentation (should be their signature dish). Try this one whenever you are here for dinner.

When we had the fresh bread here it came with three different butters; curry, basil and regular. Cute idea. My fav was the curry spice.

Their bread arrived at our table "hot". It tasted like homemade bread. Great bread!

Note: The best restaurant bread I tried was Joey's Fine Italian Dining in East Syracuse so far.

Not the best Creme Brulee I've had, but still very good.
Get rid of the nasty wafer and it would be better!

These are giant sea scallops. Not too salty.

Very nice.
Tilapia was shaped and carefully wrapped around rice and fresh veg.
