Bún Thịt Nướng

I have been here twice, loved it both times and will be back for sure. The food is fresh, the size on the generous side and tasty.
I will describe the dishes I have tried and how I like them:
- Cha Gio: fried rice wrap pork spring rolls. Best in town, tied with the ones at Pho Tuan.
- Laksa: spicy curry and coconut milk broad and thin noodles with tons of seafood. two thumbs up.
- Pork and shrimp wontons with egg noodles in broth. The wontons are similar to my mom’s. Enough said.
- Pork siu mai. Steamed and definitely homemade. Perfect for the kids.
- Noodle soup number 13. I can’t remember the name but it is the one pictured. Lots of shrimps, including the fried one, thinly sliced pork belly in a very nice broth with broad and thin noodles.
Service is friendly and prices more than reasonable for the quality and quantity.

I love the Noodle House! Everything is great, and I go there often now. Interesting specials these days too, usually posted on Instagram....

Stopped by for lunch recently and got the bún riêu, which cost $14.70 after taxes and before tip. The noodles came with 3 pieces each of imitation crab sticks, shrimp, sliced fish cake and tofu puffs, while the broth was light textured and yet had deep flavours of fermented crab and shrimp. This is one of the Noodle House’s rotating specials that are advertised on their Facebook page.

Went to the Noodle House a little while ago and enjoyed my time eating the delicious food there!
From the rice paper wraps, to Vietnamese slaw with shredded chicken, soup, tofu, and vegetarian spring rolls with vermicelli, there is a wide variety of items on the menu. The Noodle House is a great place to visit if you want Vietnamese food and are feeling hungry, or maybe want leftovers to bring home, since the portion sizes are quite generous.
Another thing to mention is the attention to detail that goes into the presentation of each dish, allowing the ingredients to complement one another visually as well as in flavour.
Overall, there was wonderful service, satiating food, and aesthetically-pleasing presentation that, combined, made for a super fun meal :)

Had a lovely early family dinner here this evening. This is absolutely amongst Ottawa's best Vietnamese restaurants and it was not as busy as it should have been at 6pm when we left.
They typically offer a number of specials and we had two: the
Rice Paper Chả Giò
($6 for two rolls) and
($12). The chả giò were shatteringly crisp and loaded with peppery ground pork.. amazing! The bò kho (beef stew) was as good as any we've had elsewhere, with its generous hunks of tender beef, soft carrots, and that characteristically intense and hugely desirable flavour profile.
Cơm Bò Nướng Tôm Nướng
($14) was a picturesque feast of grilled lemongrass beef, succulent and sweet grilled shrimp on addictively aromatic Vietnamese rice. Today's Vietnamese lesson:
is grilled, and
The accompanying veggies and pungent
rounded out the platter and brought together all those magical funky-umami-salty-sweet-sour-spicy components that make Vietnamese cuisine my favourite on the planet.
My daughter, bless her little heart, had the only non-Vietnamese dish on the menu: the
Vegetarian Pad Thai
($12). I found it flavourful but typically too sweet for me. She absolutely loved it but had to eat it slowly and in small bites because she found it spicy. Spice used to be a show stopper for her, so this delighted me!! She also remembered to bring a glass storage container for her leftovers so we wouldn't have to ask for a foam or plastic one. 😍

Went for a nice takeout lunch yesterday! opted for the special rice paper pork spring rolls (I love these wrappers vs. the crispy ones) and was luckily enough to come in the afternoon dead zone and get the chance to watch them roll spring rolls for dinner service - It's truly an art!
The rice plate featuring grilled chicken and beef was fresh and delicious. The pickled onions and carrots really balanced the flavours offishsauce and lemongrass. Even the rice was perfectly cooked and deliciously flavoured by meat residue.
The food here is fresh and delicious. It's extremely dangerous that it is so close to my house - yum!

I wandered a little further past Somerset to check out the Noodle House on Gladstone and I assure you it was worth it.
They had posted their special on Instagram (Bo Kho) and I had to go and try it since this hearty beef stew with noodles is one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes and it might actually be the best I've ever eaten. The flavours were rich and spicy but not too overpowering. The carrots almost melted. Such a tasty treat that paired really nicely with a beer!
The pork spring rolls were nice and crisp and served with some fresh vegetable pickles on the side. The pork had some really nice lingering spice flavours and was just really enjoyable.
We opted for the Sate Rare Beef Pho and the amped up chili version of a Rare Beef Pho also proved to be delicious. The broth was also incredibly hot which is a Pho requirement for me.
I'm excited to go back and try out some of the other fare. The service was excellent, ambiance better than your average Pho joint. Add the excellent food to that and it's a fabulous combo :)

Definitely my favourite spot for pho and Vietnamese soups now. It's always super clean and service is always fast and friendly. They even put the football game on for us once. Parking is easy to find and always free unlike anywhere on Somerset like Warby mentioned. Pictured is the laksa, it was very good. They take a lot of pride in their food and it shows.

Had a nice lunch here today. It is very clean and the pho broth was definitely above average. I want to come back and try the Laksa, saw it on their Facebook page after going to the restaurant. Soup comes in small (24oz) or large (32oz). Small with assorted meat is pictured (B11). I will definitely be back.

Took my very hungry family here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Part of the draw was that I had seen them promoting a rare special,
, on social media that day.
Everything was delightful! The
(summer rolls) were super fresh and elegantly presented. Grilled lemongrass pork was flavourful and beautifully plated. Soups (both
) were as they should be. The
(spring rolls) were piping hot and nicely filled. The
(rolls of fresh rice "skin" wrapped around shrimp and pork) were good, but I prefer what I've enjoyed at
Overall, this was a great visit and my wife declared it as her new favourite Vietnamese restaurant. Needless to say, we shall return! 😉

We've visited this place a few times now and the quality is consistently very good. This
Hủ Tiếu Thịt Bò Saté
(Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) hit all the right notes.
Great food combined with a preferable street parking situation compared to Somerset makes this restaurant is an easy choice!

Had dinner at the Noodle House recently, and think their grilled pork and springroll vermicelli (V03 on the menu) is a superior version, featuring loads of tender meat as well as finely cut and arranged vegetables, pickled onions and springrolls. My 2 dining partners also enjoyed their meals of grilled beef & chicken on rice and rare beef rice noodle soup (R03 and B04). Besides serving good food, this place also had kind service, bright and clean décor, and free parking along Gladstone Ave. The 3 of us were the only diners in the restaurant during our meal (5 to 6 pm on a Sunday) which is a shame, and I couldn’t help but notice while driving home along Somerset St. that other Vietnamese restaurants just a couple of blocks from the Noodle House were quite busy.

Curry beef stew with thin rice noodles. Lovely stew in a spicy curry soup.
