I suspect it is gone forever. The website has been down for months. There is a new food truck in Stittsville, "Crispy Spring Roll" or something like that. Bright yellow, just a few blocks away. I saw some people loading boxes into the trailer yesterday so I am hoping it is opening soon.

Where did it go? :(

Drove by the spot BEXX was at on Carp Road- signs are gone and the Trailer is also gone. I hope they Pop up somewhere else :-(

Went with some coworkers today for lunch. We went early before 11:30 cause I was worried there would be a long line up with the good reviews. There wasn't actually anyone there when we arrived. I had a burger and poutine which was very good. Good gravy consistancy, lots of curds and real fresh cut fries. Others had, pull pork, turkey sandwich and hot dog. Every one was happy in particular the Turkey sandwich with real strips of turkey meat! Well done

Hi Mart242,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review!

Apologies for your hotdog experience... we rotate and dispose often throughout the day so I am not sure how that happened. You can always ask for a grilled hotdog too. We didn't do sausages because others do specialize in those and we want to specialize in other things (sandwiches etc). We have hotdogs and pogos etc for 'the kids'.

We do have juices - 5 kinds in fact. I am surprised the person at the cash didn't mention that if you had children with you.

As for the meat and quality of it. All of our product comes from Almonte (with the exception of bacon and hotdogs). Everytghing is breaded daily. Pork roasted every 2 days and turkeys roasted every 2 days. NOTHING is pre-cooked prior to ordering (with the exception of steamed hotdogs).

We will definitely take your menu suggestions into consideration. Our weekely specials change every Monday (see our home page) so watch for it. If it does well - perhaps it will stay! We have already taken other suggestions and Perogies as a side dish are now part of our menu.

Thx for considering coming back and hopefully the hotdogs are better! :)

Went there last week-end with the wife and kids. I had the chicken parm sandwich with fried combo which was quite good but I felt like the bread's flavour may have been too strong because it's mostly what I was tasting. I did however like the fact that it was not the usual white bread. Nice big piece of chicken in there. Overall, I'd be happy to eat it again but will try something different next time since they've got a nice selection.

Wife and kids had hot dog combos with poutine. Poutines were great but the small one is really small.. hot dogs were a big turn off. They were steamed and felt like they had been steaming for a long time, as if they had them in their foil wrappers and let them sit in the steamer all day. I'm not a fan of hot dogs but "Glen's french fries" at the Kanata Canadian-tire had much better hot dogs last time I was there. Maybe Bexx could add some better sausages to their menu?

Fries were good, best I've tasted in Stittsville. I can do better at home but it's not as convenient!

I like the fact that they're offering a wider selection than the usual chip wagon. If only they could offer something similar to the "mitraillette" from frites alors in montreal (merguez in a baguette with some sauce and covered with fries). Some juices for kids instead of only pop could be good.

Not cheap by any means however even though most of it is "junk food". I don't mind paying a bit more when it's for quality and wonder if some higher quality ingredients (beef from a local farmer such as O'Brien, good local sausages, ..) would be a good business move or not.

In a nutshell, we'll definitely go back.

Made it over for lunch last week and tried a Chicken Parmesan sandwich. Husband had the pulled pork sandwich. YUM. (I took pictures but can't find them on my phone!) Tried to go again tonight after having a perogie craving. Checked the website to see they were open til 7 but when we arrived at 6 it was locked up. :(

The husband had lunch from here today. He said the speed/quality of service was great as was the taste of his sandwich and fries for lunch. Will be a return customer!

I dropped by after reading all of the positive reviews and after realizing the location is relatively close to my workplace. I ordered the schnitzel and pierogies dish. Service was friendly, quick, and my order arrived with a smile.

Accompanying the main dish was a container of sour cream and a lemon wedge. My first impression after my first bite was FRESH. The pierogies had a texture of being boiled and then subsequently fried for the browning effect. Large chunks of bacon and fresh spanish(or sweet)onion really added a nice flavour punch. The sour cream was also fresh and I consumed the whole thing. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and was delicious. I will be back.

That was funny! and of course I remember you now! you should have introduced yourself :) Next time for sure.

Good suggestion - perhaps I will put them as a side option in lieu of fries? I could try that for a week and see how it goes perhaps.

If you have any suggestions for a cool sanwhich let me know. Have you tried one yet? We put them on the panini press - yum and quite popular. Try the chicken parm for sure - I have people who come by each day and buy a bunch of them for their offices. Regulars already - after only one week is 'tres cool!' :)

Re Schnitzel - issue with breading today on it... and likely got cooked too long :( sorry about that.

Yup. Definitely the best poutine I've had in a long time. I loved the slight spice in the gravy. Very good service, too. The woman working at the time was pleasant and chatty. She brought out a little sauce cup of fries for our toddler to eat on his own (which worked out well because I didn't want to share the poutine. Ha!) Yum yum yum.

Tried the poutine here again today and enjoyed it more than last time. There's nothing exceptional about the gravy but it's decent. The cheese curds are in moderate quantity. And as I've said before the fries here are great! Andrea0102 reminded me not to eat the fork, which was very helpful. :P

Stittsville and Kanata have traditionally suffered from a lack of great poutine. I believe Bexx Eatery now offers the best option in that area.

My first visit to a chip truck mandates that I order the gold standard. After seeing other people's Medium poutines, I realized that I would need to get a Large. As you can see, this large is sized more like a typical medium (although my pic makes it look smaller than it really is). Oh well, smaller portions smaller waistlines right? ;-)

The fries here are excellent! Soft and brown, with a crispy exterior -- perfectly done for those who like them this way. The cheese curds were good. The ratios of fries, cheese, and gravy were well planned and the ingredients appropriately layered. My only disappointment was with the gravy, which I found to have a slightly plasticky taste. However, I gave some to a coworker to try and he didn't taste any plastic. Anyway, there's something in there that didn't work for me.

I will probably try it again just to see if this was a one-off thing. Regardless, the fries are excellent and would be spectacular with ketchup and vinegar!

We do have Malt Vinegar... perhaps it was hidden behind other condiments... the counter is pretty high... sorry - just ask if you don't see it. Thx

Fries were good, solid chip truck fries. Malt vinegar would be a nice addition - at the moment they just have white vinegar.

Tried the Chicken Parm Sandwich today, on a multigrain bun. This is really quite nice! Light garlic butter, breaded chicken breast, baby spinach, and just enough tomato sauce and cheese. And then it's all toasted on a panini press.

Full disclosure: I ended up eating at the same picnic table as the co-owner (Jamie), which gave me insight into the dedication and enthusiasm they have for this place. They showed me the kitchen and it really is as clean as it looks from the order window!

Andrea0102 slipped me a little freebee: the side coleslaw ($0.75 on the menu). This was a well balanced slaw, with some Craisins tossed in to differentiate it from the other well balanced slaws out there. It's a worthy addition to a sandwich!

This is a solid burger, which is probably a good thing in terms of wide appeal. There's nothing super interesting about it though. $4 on its own, or $7.50 for combo with pop (pictured here). The fries are quite lovely!

The price is a little steep for what amounts to a plain burger. Bacon and cheese would add up to $1.50 extra ($5.50 total). My pricing recommendation, for what it's worth: plain burger for $3.50 and bacon cheeseburger for $4.50. This would make it an obvious choice over fast food places.

However, the length of the lunchtime lineup today suggests that my recommendations should be ignored. :-) Revisit them if the crowds ever start to dwindle at some point.

Had the pulled pork on a bun platter today. Although it isn't *real* pulled pork, it's probably the best slow-cooker version I've had. Super tender, with a good balance of smoke and sweet.

An interesting thing about pulled pork sandwiches: If you're in a rush, they're way quicker to eat than a hamburger because the meat is premoistened and prechewed. Win win! ;-)

The platter comes with their excellent coleslaw and fries. A nice little meal for $7.75 (tax in).
