ottawa foodies

I am looking all over Ottawa for a vegan restaurant that delivers. Or a resultant that delivers vegan food. Or really anything -- anything-- that could deliver to the south Ottawa area with a variety of vegan-friendly options. I am having a small birthday party for an important someone in about a week, and thought that food they could eat would be easy to find in a bigger city like Ottawa. Apparently not. Can anyone help me with this? Any restaurant commendations or suggestions of where else I could look (Google has failed me)? Any type of food is welcome, as long as it’s vegan-edible.

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but it's still an answer. ;-)

Vegetarian pizza, hold the cheese.

Other than that, you could try to find ethnic foods that fit the bill: Indian or Thai could be a good bet. Or a Lebanese place could whip up a nice falafel platter.

As far as "Western" food is concerned this might be a difficult quest. Vegans are more likely to be riding bicycles or taking public transit than to be driving cars and delivering food. :]

I am probably not helping much either but here goes. The Green Door restaurant on Main St. and The Table on Wellington both do takeout so maybe catering might be an option? Actually the Green Door does catering - I do some volunteer work for Opera Lyra and we had them prepare some finger foods for one of our events a couple of years ago and it was a HIT! I just checked the Table website and they will actually bake cakes on order so it might be a possibility for a birthday cake. Not sure if they cater or what the prices would be like but it might be but it might be worth investigating...

wild oat in the glebe has a number of vegan items. i think you will have more luck buying vegan things ready made ahead of time. or go ethnic.

Greek maybe? Greek on Wheels has some nice vegetarian platters; dolmas, greek potatoes, hummus, tabouli, greek salad (hold the feta) - those things would probably be vegan no? They have individual platters, or you could inquire about large party trays which they do as well.

It's too late for your event, but the Green Door does cater, and they know how to do good vegan food.
