New season starts next Monday on The Food Network. Ottawa is actually represented this year - Jonathan Korecki from Sidedoor is one of the 16. Also there's a chap by the name of Curtis Luk representing Ottawa, but I don't know where he cooks.
I enjoyed it as well, but was let down with some of the challenges. They reminded me more of Chopped than Top Chef....and Mark M doesn't bring as much to the table as Tom C, IMO. But overall, enjoyable with some real talent once the initial few were out.
My sources tell me that Jonathan Korecki will stick around for awhile, apparently there is talk that he did quite well ... of course the results are top secret ...
The fact that Sidedoor is inviting folks to drop by every Monday to watch Jonathan compete on TV might be a clue he was not eliminated early in the series. Just reading between the lines ...
I abhor reality TV food shows. Usually lack entertainment and limited, very limited on the learning. But, considering the showing of two of our local talents, I think I may soften my position for this season of Top Chef. Hope they do well.
As a follow-up on Omnivore's Ottawa post Sidedoor is in fact inviting people to drop by for drinks and snacks while the show is on: sidedoorrestaurant.com/
