I recently came back from San Diego for the 2010 Comic Convention. I went with my friend who just slept all the time. I decided to tour San Diego and came across The Cheesecake factory. Obviously they had a large selection of cheesecake. But I decided to sit and eat. A table for one at lunch time is a quick seat. I had the pasta carbonara. It was good, but nothing to write home about.
While I ate I overheard the server mention to the other table about the new Stefanie's Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake. This is the description from their website:
Moist layers of Red Velvet Cake and our Original Cheesecake covered with our special Cheesecake Factory cream cheese frosting. 25¢ from the sale of each slice will be donated to Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
Sounds pretty sweet, huh? Yes it was VERY sweet. What they didn't mention in the description was the white chocolate between the layers. So at this point I might have developed Diabetes just be eating this cake. I was only able to eat half of it. I brought it to the motel and offered it to my buddy. He realized why I couldn't finish it. In the end, I had to throw it out because we had to leave the next day. Next time....it shall be devoured.
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that some of the proceeds from a cheesecake that probably has 1000 calories per serving is going towards hunger-relief.
That looks quite incredible, but only in a way-overdone sort of way.
