If you can get to the corner of Bank and Somerset there is an Indian restaurant there.
Usually I get the tandoori chicken wrap and it is really good!
It is $7, but one of the best sandwiches I've had at a take out place.
They use real chicken breasts and they also make the Naan bread while you wait (they have a oven for it behind the counter,it is kind of a open kitchen place.
They also have a good pizza...exept pizza takes at least 20+ minutes as they have to make the Naan, dress the pizza and finish it in the oven.
You could always call ahead I guess.
I know they have Indian dishes, but I have never tried them..maybe one day I will.
But a few weeks ago was getting a pizza and did see some people eating in and it seems to be they just cook the chicken breasts and then slice them and serve that..it is good, but did not tempt me (the same chicken on pizza or sandwiches is really good though).
Or there is Golden Baguette on bank st
Bank and Lisgar near the fruit basket store (with the yellow sign), edible arrangements I think.
The hot and sour soup is vegetarian and really good...and super spicy.
The stir fries are good too.
a few weeks ago has a black bean shrimp stir fry and the shrimp are somewhat small, but there were at least a dozen shrimp and you can pay for extra.
They make their own sauces too,so the black bean dish actually had real black beans in it.
The small size of stir fry is $4 and a small square container.
spring rolls here are good and quite big..and vegetarian
-they also make rice paper noodle rolls..but you have to ask them.
-the vegetables they use are fresh and good too.
Golden baguette also has red bean buns and green bean filled buns-those are pretty good.
The spinach filled buns are really good too and lately are always sold out :(
I wrote a review and have a pic of the green bean filled bun on my blog.
The bread they use for those buns is quite good.

one thing I do not like as much from Golden Baguette is the cookies.
the ones that look like butter cookies or shortbread...really indifferent to those.
And the butter tarts, they are good..exept the dough always seems too "chewy" and not buttery enough.
I know they do not use lard in anything and the dough for the tarts is made with margarine I think I was told a while ago.
I still get their butter tarts once in a while, but can never seem to finish all the dough on them.
-they also have a different banana bread there.
it is like a square and it has slices of actual banana in the middle.
"interesting idea" anyways. they taste good and seem rather healthy I guess.
Oh, and they also make homemade doughnuts fresh every day.
there is a cinnamon sugar spinkled one, another topped with actual chocolate instead of icing, and some third kind.
-it is the same dough for the three doughnuts.
I have the take-out menu from Golden Baguette here and the address is:
242 Bank
tel: (613)235-3838
-you can order by phone
and their menu states "all freshly baked and preservative free"

Does anyone know when it is supposed to open?
I'm tired of my lunch options around L'Esplanade...
