Kosher hotdog? [General]

I've been googling for ages and can't find Hebrew National Hot Dogs in Canada. I like that they answer to a higher authority. I haven't had a hot dog in years but I've been craving one for ages.

Does anyone know of a good all beef dog that can be eaten without thinking of the raccoons on The Great Outdoors movie (lips and bumholes)? It doesn't have to be kosher, just not mass produced garbage.

If you'll eat Halal, just about any muslim grocer in town carries halal dogs.

Genius! Why didn't I think of that.

You can get Halal hot dogs at any of the Loebs ( soon to be Metro ) stores as well as Food Basics.
Loblaws at College Square has a huge Kosher section. I usually get my chicken from them. Nothing beats a kosher chicken.

if not halal or kosher, say you are getting a turkey dog, make sure the casing is lamb or bovine and not hog casing

sorta off topic, you guys remember the salmon dog experiment? (or did that only happen in the States?)

one word comes to mind: VILE!

I don't think you can find anything like Hebrew National or Nathan's in Canada unfortunately...

However, as cakelady has noted the College Square Loblaw's has a huge Kosher aisle and deli. They stock a nice variety of Kosher dogs - Shefa brand, Baldwin Street, and Rubashkin's - Aaron's Best.

I'm partial to Rubashkin's myself!

I think they serve Hebrew National at Grand Central New York Deli. Although, I am not sure why I think that... but perhaps I saw it on the menu somewhere. The manager is quite approachable. He might be able to help you out.
