Tonkatsu? [General]

Taste of Japan is one possibility if you find yourself in Bells Corners: their online menu doesn't list Tonkatsu specifically, but does include Chicken and Beef Katsu.

Otherwise, maybe Totoya? I vaguely (and perhaps incorrectly) remember them having donburi on their menu ... maybe they do katsu-don as well?

I believe Joy Restaurant offers several Katsu, including beef, and chicken, pork, curry, or salmon, and the restaurant is well reviewed. www.ottawafoodies.com

I must admit that I'm a big fan of the curry chicken katsu from Restaurant Joy.
It's also dead easy to make at home, all you need is a mallet to tenderize the meat and pound it out to thin pieces, egg wash and some panko breadcrumbs. Pan fry, et voila! You can buy tonkatsu sauce at most grocery stores now.

Chimichimi, you list Hino as one of your favs - do they serve Katsu? I've only been once and can't remember the menu too well (though i did enjoy the food).

Hi all.
I would recommend trying the Totoya in the market... I have had the katsudon there, which is always spectacular and I know they also have tonkatsu on the menu, as I almost ordered it last time... and went for sushi and tempura instead.

I'm looking for a Japanese restaurant that serves a good tonkatsu (breaded, deep fried pork cutlet). It always comes with tonkatsu sauce, but I've been to a few places that also serve it with spicy mustard, which just makes the dish, IMO. Anyone know of any places that offer this?
Thanks!
