Waving Chefs... [General]

2008 Jul 23
Wow, I notice that today we are being over run by the "Waving Chefs". There were 9 of them in the Recently Active Box (out of 18 avatars & icons) just after 2:00 PM.

Now don't get me wrong I like the little guy... it generally means that more people have joined our Foodie Community. But it felt like a "Waving" Chef Convention when I looked at the home page.

Thing is they weren't your normal "numeric" users, 8 of the 9 had Registered User Names. As much as I like to see "Waving Chefs" I really really like to see new Avatars & Icons (remember I created a Forum Topic just about them). LOL

If you are looking for "How To" Help or Ideas let us know. I for one love it when a "Waving Chef" gets a personna.

Food&Think Waving chef convention - LOL! The icons don't bother me so much as the lack of a name. It took me awhile to get around to changing my icon but at least I managed to muster up a name that accurately reflects my eating habits. (Tonight it's angel hair pasta with roast peppers and garlic with a little fresh basil sprinkled on top - I'm hungry already!)

Hey Captain your not helping with this food porn! I would gladly post photos of dinner but alas I do not have a digital camera...

I have one of these cameras and would galdly take pictures of your dinner (or any other Ottawa Foodies dinner).

Pasta Lover - Waving Chef Convention... yes that is a good one, I thought it cute!

As you know, I love your Icon / Avatar, and the fact that he has is own personal TV Show / Video makes me grin everytime I see him.

I'm with Captain C on the pic request... yum-yum.

Last night I had pasta. Dinner went like this...

First I heated up some Hot Italians
Then had a glass of wine to cool off.
Splashed on a little olive oil
Then sauteed some onions, and garlic.
Boiled some ww spagetti & rotini
Got a little spicy with the veggies
Reheated my Italians
Had some more Wine
Sent the tomatoes into a stew with the veggies
Had some more wine
Strained the pasta
Mixed the Italians with the pasta and sauce
Got everybody hot
Then we moved to the Dining Room
And sat down to dinner with my Man
Just the three of us...
"The Man", The Hot Italian Rotini and Me
It was a Menage-a-Tois to remember
Just recalling it...
Has me looking for the wine.

LOL
Italian food is sooooo sexy.

Hahahaha....

Captain C is such a food sl*t, he'll do anything to get an invitation to dinner. This is the first time I've seen the camera being waved around as his excuse.

Gotta love it though, he is so open about his addictions.
That is why his user name is Captain Caper...

Food&Think Okay it's the middle of the afternoon in the middle of the week in the middle of the summer and I am feeling a little silly! Are those hot Italians the tall dark and hansome type? And did you use the wine to cool yourself off or the dish?-:) (I have finished terrorizing my friends at work who are probably not my friends anymore so I am now moving onto my foodie friends!)

BTW you may come over for dinner only if you promise to wash the dishes after. I don't have a dish washer and I have ALOT of dishes-:)

2008 Jul 23
Sure .... I'll do the dishes .....anything for a plate of pasta !!

2008 Jul 23
Besides .... as the pic says: "Most 'husbands' help with dishes".

This reminds me .... I had a dishwasher once .... but she left me for another man. HeHeHe.

Pasta Lover - LOL, yes indeed it is a lazy hazy summer day, and I'm feeling a little steamy.

I prefer not to get into "hot water" with the Man in my life, so lets just say the Italians were good, not great, I couldn't find any of those BIG Hot Italians locally (and on short notice) if you know what I mean.

As for the wine, well honey that is a whole other story... that indeed was a BIG Foreigner, from Chile... But then if I recall he never really made it out of the kitchen... I had to rely on him to cool me off during all that saucy bit with the Italians.

BTW, I liked the Chilean so much, that I'm thinking of seeing him again, and "The Man" thinks maybe we should actually invite him to dinner next time rather than just have him hang out in the kitchen... seems I was a tad rude to not invite him. LOL

Also, If I read your post correctly, it would appear that you have invited ME to dinner (yipee), and not necessarily Captain Caper. But based on his reply he's offered to do the dishes... so that settles it, I'll come for dinner, and he can drop by later to do the dishes.
:-)

And to tie all thoughts together in this thread...
The Chef & Guest are now WAVING at Dishwasher.

Food&Think well the dinner invite was for the Captain although you can come too! The second to last picture he posted is a fairly accurate illustration of my kitchen! So it should keep him busy while we polish off the pasta and whatever is left of the wine-:)
