Has been replaced with a new place called Austin City Grill. Have not yet tried it, will post soon.

I have had mixed reviews of this place until I finally tried it.

Pretty awful, but it sounds like they lack a decent cook or is too threaten by the owner, who threatened, albeit jokingly, that she would fire the chef for screwing up my steak....

I think it's important to have places in Barrhaven that are decent, but I would not go to this place regularly even if I lived in Barrhaven. I could probably do a better steak on the barbee than they....

The only one making any sense on this board is From Da Rock. This place is middle of the road at best. I started off very excited seeing much potential in the surroundings and menu. As soon as the food arrived, the wheels fell off. Our appetizers, salads, soup and entrees arrived in unison. Fantastic! Probably the least of the screw ups. The french onion soup, way too salty, the crispy beef, lacking in crispiness. All in all, pass this place up; opt for the Mac's next door.

mussel night on sunday. it was just average IMHO.

calamari was presented with uber fashion with 3 sauces: pickled ginger greme fraiche + spicy aoili + sweet garlic soy. the kitchen was overwhelmed by the packed crowed but the service for me was still stupendous.

@ terra grill for prime rib and jumbo tiger prawns on garlic mashed 'tatoes and seasonal veggies alongside duck poutine in mushroom jus and balderson cheese. caesars were well made and the service was impeccable and cooked exactly to my specifications. a definite improvement over the past and a most definite return.

Ok I am not a person to complain, I can usually find the good and eat what was served even though it may not be to my standards. This night I could not. Now lets put some history here, we went when it first opened .... 2005... I think,,, back then it was ok. I mean food was tasty, wine list was wonderful, but the atmosphere was noisy and the food was pricey for quality. Now I always said I wanted to return once the kinks were out to see... especially since I embrace a fine dining experience in bbq haven. So we did. I wish we had not. The menu has changed much since, wine list less desirable, food now consisting mostly of steak and a little seafood so I thought that is their specialty so that is what should be ordered... not so, my steak was cold, and salmon was dry.Now I will usually keep my mouth shut eat it and then write about it here, but I could not, I actually complained and had it redone. Congrats to the service which took my complaints seriously and even gave us dessert on the house. BTW- it took over an hour to receive our meals in the first place. In the end, I appreciate the service, but the quality does not equal the price. Therefore like the Tuscan Grill (another claim to be fine dining in bbq haven) I will not return. Too bad. (I guess you can not be childless food lovers in BBq haven...) Shall I move?

This identical dish (Balderson, duck, frites) was on the Elgin Freehouse menu when it opened. Same chef? Coincidence? Blatant ripoff?

@ terra grill for duck poutine which was composed of duck meat on fries, mushroom au jus, and balderson cheese. a very nice touch of class! definite reorder on future visits.
