Ordered take-out from here a couple of nights ago.
Ordered the following:
-paneer masala; which was delicious. A little thick and creamy, but it is exactly what I was craving that night.
-chicken tikka, which is boneless tandoori chicken. It was not to my likening. The chicken tastes like it had been frozen or something. Not impressed at all.
The naan was excellent. Probably the best naan I have had in the city. Next time I cook Indian food I will order some fresh naan as it always makes a good meal even better.
One thing that has to be mentioned is that their portions are huge. I think you may get bigger portions when doing take-out rather than dining in.
Probably one of the better Indian restaurants in Ottawa. Will likely go back but order vegetarian dishes only.
Well run place with delicious Indian food... this is my number 1 in Kanata/Stittsville/Bells Corners area...
I confirm... butter chicken the best I ever had. I will try it again no doubts!
I checked this place out yesterday and I have to say that the food was quite good for a lunch buffet. The butter chicken was really yummy (quite rich) and the beef vindaloo was great - spicy for a buffet, but not as spicy as vindaloo typically is. The Naan was also pretty good, but maybe a bit chewy - probably from re-heating. My only real criticism is that the vegetable pakoras were a bit over cooked.
I will definitely go back!
Just a note of caution with respect to the parking lot - if you are going for lunch, go early as this strip mall has a few restaurants and it tends to get really busy - parking is at a premium.
I've been over to ICO a handful of times now and while the other dishes I ate don't really stand out, their mushroom curry is incredible.
They are very small mushrooms, no bigger than a quarter and they came in a small 2 cup steel pot. We had a vindaloo, a lamb curry and a butter chicken curry on the table along with the mushroom curry and the mushrooms were gone first.
