Last Sunday I spent a day at the National Gallery and decided to have lunch at the tapas bar in the Great Hall. I have eaten at the cafeteria before and have long wished that the gallery would change caterers since the food there is less than impressive. I checked the tapas bar menu on a previous visit and the food looked quite tasty. When I ate there last Sunday I chose a charcuterie board and it came with sliced ham, salami, prociutto, a terrine, hot mustard, and some gherkins. The quality of meats is very good and I felt I got a generous portion of food. I hope to tie in another visit soon so I can try the cheese board. On a minor note I wish they would offer a larger selection of beers since they only have two of them listed on the wine list. I am really glad the Gallery opened this tapas bar since the cafeteria food is horrible and they are losing customers to the market.
