Came here today for the first time. We each had the appetizer combo and split a side order of jimica salad. The combo consisted of one lumpia roll, one rice ball similar to arancini and 3 small chicken sewers. It didn't look like a lot of food but it was filling enough. The lumpia roll was delicious, the chicken tasty but the rice ball was so-so. The jimica slaw was mostly cabbage. Overall, it was good enough that I would go back to try some of their other dishes.
I tried the "Bicol Express" described as "crispy pork belly, sautéed in spicy coconut sauce, served on garlic infused rice".
It was nice enough, but the pork wasn't really crispy, and so it ended up like a Thai Panang curry but with pork instead of beef or chicken.
At $10.50 (tax incl) I initially thought the portion was on the small side, but it was actually very filling.
I also had the sweet potato fries ($6). These were fresh & hot and pretty good, but once you've been spoiled by the SPF at Urban Cowboy the bar to impress me is rather high.
The other menu items looked interesting so I'd give them another try if I see them at an event.
I'm not very experienced with Filipino food, so I opted for a well-known dish rather than the most interesting sounding one. The Chicken Adobo ($9.50 tax-in) was a full meal of tasty chicken and delightful rice with an attractive garnish-like topping of julienned veggies. There was enough sauce to season all the rice, with little chunks of sauteed onion and ginger throughout. The salt level was on the high side but I don't mind that. All in all a nice supper!
