Since moving to the east end, this has generally been where we get our AYCE fix. We've always found the service attentive, the rolls fresh with crisp nori, and the sashimi to be on par.
...until last night. I don't know if they were just having an off night, but it took us five minutes to be seated (with at least eight empty tables staring right at us), the rolls were mushy as if they had been sitting for a long time and they were poorly sliced (filling spilling out everywhere, mashed edges, strange sizes). Even the sashimi was cut unevenly.
Bonus: every single piece ordered, from the rolls to the nigiri to the sashimi was covered in flying fish roe. While we understand that some of those little devils can sneak their way in, it almost looked like they were rolling the rolls in it. Instead of a nice avocado salmon roll, it was a flying fish roll with a smear of watery avocado and a tiny piece of salmon.
At the end of the meal we all looked at each other and the bill and collectively voiced how little that had been worth it.
My wife and I swung by TEN Sushi for lunch on Friday, and we were pleased at how quickly our items arrived. Not only that, we actually got everything we ordered!
They run off of the iPad-based ordering system, which worked without a hitch. Quality was OK, about on-par with what you'd expect from an all-you-can-eat sushi place.
We placed two rounds of orders, and were in and out in about 40 minutes. We'll definitely be going back if we need a quick bite to eat before returning to work. A great find.
