Three of the best Chinese chefs in Ottawa opened Three Kings Restaurant a little less than a year ago. Ottawa has been lacking in quality authentic Chinese restaurants. This is all substance with a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and incredible quality. They do western Chinese very well (general tao's, kung pao chicken, etc.) but you will fall in love with the authentic dishes (ie. Beef with gailan, bbq pork on rice, hot pot, etc.). I highly recommend.

This place seems to be only recently opened when I visited. It had no liquor licence yet and they were still waiting for takeout menus to be printed.
I tried their Kung Pao Chicken as this is a dish I often use as a yardstick to gauge a restaurant. It was mediocre.
Adequate service but not much to rave about otherwise. I didn’t feel any special temptation to return but it may be worth a second look after it has been open a little longer.

We'll miss them and will need to figure out who else will deliver with decent authentic Chinese...
