Dear Presse Cafe Queen street location - in my mind at least, a red tortilla does not make a ham n egg breakfast wrap remotely 'southwestern'. Throw some salsa in there, jack cheese, peppers...anything really... it's not like 'southwestern' actually means anything. Also, if you put the words 'tuna and olives' in three different places in both official languages, call me crazy, but the wrap should probably have an olive in it somewhere. Both wraps were okay, but not as advertised.

The coffee was good.

Presse Cafe @ Laurier and O'connor Street, downtown Ottawa is my second home cuisine since my office located @ L'Esplanade. My daily routine started with their delicious Breakfast Sandwiches such as EGG Press, Croque-matin, or Three Cheese on Multigrain Panini. Also their new Morning wrap. I always enjoy my Non Fat Latte or Their Espresso Allonge top it up with a rich Crema. For Lunch they have a Variety of Paninis and Healthy wraps like the Chicken Mango and the Chicken Avocado Wraps wich I can't find them somewhere else. Their Salads display superb and they have a different selection everyday. My favorite is the Lebanese Fattoush it's very healthy especially that they BAKE the Pita Bread taste much better then frying it. Also I witnessed right in front of me when the first bowl is done they reload it with another fresh FATTOUSH Salad. I LOVE their Mango Salad, shredded Carrot with Mandarine and Kiwi Dressing AHHHH !... So Healthy and delicious. Their Paninis and Wraps Combo with 2 choices of Salad to pick from their fridge display is affordable for my budget. you can get the combo starting from $8,15 and $9,15 and $10,15 for Salmon Panini and Angus Beef Panini Combo Sooooo yummy and Healthy. The important thing I always find Presse Cafe- Laurier sparkling Clean tables, floors, counters and no finger prints on the fridges Glass. they have a great service always greet me and not only me also to the customers standing in front of me and behind me their Crew always welcome every customer with their friendly smile their knowledge on explaining what to choose for my Lunch and I always get good and delicious choices for my Lunch. Presse Cafe- Laurier is my favorite place to sit and enjoy my Lunch Also they have a great Ambiance to sit and have my afternoon Latte listening to their mix French and English music while browsing their latest and varieties magazines. Their place makes me always forget that I'm in Ottawa thinking I'm sitting somewhere in Europe Paris or italy's Cafe Bistro . I strongly recommend everyone to Visit Presse Cafe @ Laurier and O'connor Location in Downtown Ottawa.

I went to the new press café – that opened in ‘Vitae Mine’s’ place – for lunch today (O’conner and Laurier). Last time I ate at presse café I was in Montréal, in October 2011. I remember eating a sautéed mushroom and goat cheese sandwich, which was really good. So I ordered the same thing today.

For 10.16, you get a decent quality, rather large sandwich, and two salads of your choice. The bread (baguette) they use is really hearty, and you can definitely taste some sourdough goodness in there. The sandwich wasn’t as good as I remembered it, but subjectivity and expectation may have skewed my judgement.

The mushrooms did not have a particularly deep flavour, but anything with goat cheese on it is usually delicious. No major complaints and I enjoyed the sandwich.

The salads though, sucked today. They look gorgeous, but holy salt! I would likely blame this on a mistake of the person preparing the salads but shit, trying to give me sodium poisoning? I had the fatoush, and a pickled artichoke salad. They both looked good; were flavoured very nicely with all sorts of herbs, but I couldn’t get over the salt and ultimately threw them out.

Oh and, they mixed the fried pitas in with the dressing, and thus the pita became soggy and gross.

Considering other lunch options around, I would say Presse Café is pretty good quality and value. I’d stay away from the chicken breast options (more sisco frankenchicken), but the roasted veggies, and deli meat varieties all look fine.

Unfortunately, I had take away today, or else I would have asked the staff to taste the salads. After they inevitably wince from the salt overdose, I would kindly ask them, a) please remove this salted crap from your display case, and b) please substitute with something easy on my heart.

I’ll give this particular location another shot, cause the sandwich was good. If I go for salad again, I would consider eating in the restaurant so I could test the salad out before getting back to my office.

I will cautiously recommend Presse Café, but it’s a chain, so this review obviously doesn’t speak for other locations.

There's a Presse Cafe in the CBC Building, which is where my office is at the moment. Feeling too lazy to walk to Bridgehead at lunch, I grabbed an Americano here. I know that espresso is a personal thing, but I will say that it's not quite as good as Bridgehead's, but far better, smoothly, and more deeply flavoured than that of Starbucks. In a pinch, it'll do just fine.
