Pizza Italie is a hole-in-the-wall Pizza joint in Hull on Place Du Portage. It is the only thing open on the weekends in this area. They serve: pizza, club sandwiches, poutine, chicken fingers, pasta and other standard pizza joint offerings.

I agree amazing delicious poutine. The club sandwich is also good I wish they had the option of whole wheat bread insted of the white. Chicken wings arent good - dry, not fresh or flavourful - avoid them.

Pizza Italie is a crungy little Pizza place in Hull. Inebriated club goers often patronize this place after the bar, as they are open late. Also, when the public servants from portage go back to the suburbs, this part of town dies. Pizza Italie is one of a very few establishments open to serve the few people who live around there.

I will say right now that the Pizza here is not very good. It's okey, but 1 for 1 across the street makes better pizza (and 1 for 1 isn't very good so... you could imagine that pizza italie isn't that great).

There are two things that Pizza Italie does very well, and they are the only things I order there, namely, Club Poutine, and Chicken Fingers.

The Club Sandwich is standard, but very good. It's hard to screw up a club sandwich, but Pizza Italie executes it well almost every time. The poutine here is very, very good. The fries are very thick and the gravy is super tasty. I think this place makes a better poutine than La Pattat Doree (which is a poutine shack). Surely the fries are frozen, and the gravy is most likely from a packet, it is very good. A club poutine is 10 bucks. Although it's not cheep, it's a decent price.

The chicken finger platter is very good too. This is also a frozen product, but they are generous with portions, and the chicken is breast. There are no sketchy fatty or ligament parts in the chicken fingers. They usually give you 5 large pieces of chicken, but sometimes they don't count. I have gotten at least 7 on occasion.

If you plan on ordering these things, I suggest you call ahead, since it takes about 10 to fifteen minutes. Remember this is one of the only places to get fast food in this area, so on the weekend (when one would think this place would be quiet), the boys in the back are scuffling to prepare delivery orders etc etc.

Look, this place is by no means great. It's very sketchy looking and one may question even coming into its doors. But I have had their club sandwich, poutine and chicken fingers many a time. In fact, on Friday after returning from an awesome show at Le Petit Chicago (Soul Jazz Orchestra live), I had to counter balance the many Boreal Rousse’s that I drank with some quality grease.
