Moca Loca is pretty prime!

There are about 10 locations around the Gatineau area and it's one of my top spots to go to work on my business from. Great wifi, hot coffee, and tasty lunches :)

There are a few locations of Moca Loca and this one on St-Joseph is my favourite. There is a huge selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries and coffees and teas.

My favourite drink is the soy latte. It has a slightly roasted flavour.

The picture shows a recent club wrap trio with two choices of salads (kale and cranberry and tuna rotini pasta) and a coffee or tea.

They have agave syrup as an option for sweetening your hot drink!

Like Sourberry did two years ago, I just discovered their St-Joseph location this morning. I rarely buy espressos out now as I really like my product :) at home but dang! A great espresso here! I enjoyed a couple of them on the sunny-nice patio for a meeting but will be back to try the desserts. Stopped in my tracks by the beauty, I took a photo of the case - that very high cake is a carrot cake. Massive Palmiers...ooh...
A really wonderful spot with a super friendly staff.

About time I discover this little gem! Have been looking for a good dessert spot for a while and it never occured to me to look in my own back yard.

Recently tried the Moca Loca on St-Joseph in Hull (a few steps from my work) and I am very impressed! Cozy, lounge atmosphere - lots of stone, red accents, shiny paintings, comfy seats and exotic background music. But the best part - the food! First visit my husband and I each ordered a piece of cake (some sort of chocolate cake for me and Skor cake for him). How cakes can be so light and delicious and rich all at once is beyond me. We couldn't finish - definitely share a piece or you'll have leftovers (which would be far from terrible). Their house coffee is also excellent - definitely on par with Starbucks or Bridgehead (they also have a selection of fair trade coffees and feature Cocoa Camino products). Today we shared a lunch combo - an Italian panini (don't remember exact details: some sort of Italian cold cut and provolone maybe along with marinated eggplants and pesto, perfectly toasted - delish!) and a red potato salad (only had a tiny bite but I'd say red potatoes, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, some sort of vinegar and paprika - light and fresh with potato flavor shining through). Also a piece of chocolate/peanut butter cake (chocolate cookie crumb crust, thin layer of peanut butter, chocolate cake, light but RICH peanut butter mousse, Reeses Pieces, chocolate drizzle) and another coffee. Everything was delicious!

Service is quick and friendly and there is a little patio looking out on St-Joseph. Prices may be perceived as high to some but I think they are fair considering the quality of the food and the generous portions. (Price for panini, salad, cake and coffee was $15 but there was enough food for two.) Only issue I have is the parking - not much of it and somewhat cramped (but there is on street parking available nearby). Also, tends to be busy every time I go but there is always just enough seats available. Can't really fault them for being so popular!

I look forward to trying other locations of this franchise (especially the one in my hometown of Aylmer). This gem is my new favorite spot for lunch or just to hang out with hubby and friends.

I highly recommend!
