I know, I know, for an extra 5 dollars, I could eat until I puke... but for $10 + tax, you can get 3 maki rolls, seaweed salad and miso soup for takeout. Good, quick lunch.

AMAZING BEEF!
Service was above average for all you can eat in Ottawa. Food was delicious although they don't give you exact amount of ribs that you order but they still are amazing.

We recently moved to eastern Ontario from Montreal and were looking for a Sushi place in Ottawa. Sushi Kan was the closest as shown on my GPS so we decided to take the chance and drop by. Much to our dismay, it was an AYCE place (which should be illegal where Sushi is concerned). We have eaten at a number of different AYCE Sushi places, with mixed results, but I do have to say that Sushi Kan was amongst the worst!

Their Nigiri and Sashimi is VERY limited, and is obviously pre-sliced, pre-packaged, generic sushi. The pieces were paper thin and not a single piece of fish tasted fresh. The restaurant was quite busy, with others seeming to enjoy it, but I just couldn't see how. I did notice that the vast majority of people were eating rolls, which does mask the quality and flavour of any fish inside. We are not Maki eaters, and so found the place to be just terrible for our preferences.

We are still looking for a "real" Sushi place in Ottawa, and NOT an AYCE place! Yes, we are "Sushi Snobs" and always go for quality over quantity and price.

BTW, he service was just fine, our complaint is the quality of the food.

AYCE sushi can never compare with an a la carte Japanese restaurant so I'll try and limit my comments to what I would expect from an AYCE restaurant.

I went to the Innes location the other day; the restaurant was full and the wait staff was running around with plates of sushi. Typically for an ACYE restaurant, a fair amount of what we ordered never actually made it to the table. Since you can order as much as you want, the simple way to solve this is to order the missing dish again, but it would be nice to have some consistency when ordering.

The selection is quite large but with a noticeable lack of tuna available for nigiri and many rolls. My biggest issue with the restaurant is that there is no description of the content of the maki rolls. This resulted in our ordering several rolls that contained cream cheese that neither of us enjoyed (I happen to think that cream cheese doesn't mix well with sushi, but that's my personal taste).

The service was very fast albeit cold. I would consider returning but only for lunch as I feel there are better restaurants that are closer to town.

One of my favourite AYCE Sushi restaurants in Ottawa. But it's AYCE so don't go if you want superb high quality sushi.
I wouldn't say it's greasy - but it probably depends on what you order

I go to the Innes location at least twice a month and love it every time. Obviously the sushi is not as high quality as say, Go Sushi Man on Innes in Orleans, but the variety and consistency is excellent. They just introduced new menus 2 weeks ago and have added a few new items (General Tso's Chicken, Mango and Avacado rolls, Teriyaki Chicken roll, etc.). While it is worth the $20 at dinner if you eat enough, I much prefer going at lunch where the food is higher quality and it is $6 cheaper. Btw, with the new menus, pop and other drinks (iced tea, etc.) are only $0.20 per glass (amazing deal).

Things I recommend: Orange Peel Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Teriyaki Chicken, California rolls, Yummi Yummi rolls, Dragon rolls, S/C crab rolls, S/C tuna rolls.

On my last visit I ordered the Dragon roll (white and red) and quite liked the change to the baked roll. I also recommend the spicy crispy salmon and the Yummy Yummy roll.

Thought this place was great! It may not be the real Japanese Sushi, but it'll do for the price they ask for. Have been back here maybe 4 times in the last month. Thought lunches are better than dinner.

I find mackerel hard to stomach at the best of times. But the last time we were there (after Christmas) people in our group ordered it and didn't finish it.

The salmon sashimi is amazing here. The white tuna is good. But you must avoid the mackerel at all costs. Most disgusting thing i've ever put in my mouth. In contrast the salmon is so delicious and melts in your mouth.

Also avoid the salmon teriyaki at all cost. Disgusting.

Last time I was here (at Christmastime) I decided to order a bunch of different items to see how they were. We had a huge group, so I figured someone would eat it.

The calamari was wonderful. Not too rubbery, not overfried. The calamari was deep-fried. Easily some of the best I've had. It was a pleasant surprise.

Normally I would avoid fried rice at a restaurant like this; I'd assume it was just a menu filler, but we were here with my Mom and she ordered it (the chicken fried rice, i think they have a few other types as well). It is excellent! Best fried rice I've had in Ottawa! Nice big pieces of chicken and scrambled egg, the obligatory peas, and an incredible umami tastiness. I wish I had some right now!
