Word to the wise - Their eggs benedict are terrific, but costly to the bowels. Cheap, excellent service and tasty food, but not for those lacking gut fortitude.

Bellathena: I'm so happy to hear that they're still doing well. I was there all the time as an undergrad, and the server knew us well. The food was delicious and inexpensive, and they didn't mind if we lingered and studied after we were done breakfast.

Makes me want to go back, for old time's sake. :D

The breakfast special is a steal (less than $5 for your classic two egger including coffee or tea) and ready in a flash. The server (don't know her name - but the little old lady) is a sweetheart. I've also had the eggs benedict twice and it's quite well done. The sauce was perfect both times and the portions are HUGE. Also, I love the homemade homefries and how they're not deep friend but pan fried and with a delicious herb seasoning. And it's $8 including an orange juice! Without a doubt this place blows F&S out of the water for breakfast in speed, service, price and quality. The only thing I could ask for is maybe some fruit on the plate, but that's just nitpicking (and let's face it, for the price point, you get a good deal already).

I just realized that I originally put this under "Father and Sons" by mistake.

I work across the street and forgot to bring my lunch today. I dashed over to pick up a BLT and fries. I asked for some mayo on the side for my fries and was charged an extra dollar.

The sandwich was good, the bacon was well cooked, the tomatoes were ripe, red and juicy and the lettuce was crisp.

I dipped the first fry into the mayo and was horrified to discover that it was, in fact, Miracle Whip. Gross.

The fries are not good enough to stand on their own and thus I was greatly disappointed.
