Kettlemans to expand to Montreal [Food/Vendor]

St-Viateur is the same family as Ottawa Bagelshop, so I would think that if anyone in Ottawa were going to take it over it would be them.
What's the story on Cadmans Montreal Bagels while we are on this topic? They seem to have left the franchise a while back. Anyone have any info on that?

Even when they were both Kettleman's, I always found that the Carling and Woodroffe location (now Cadman's) was not quite the same as the Bank St. location. I liked both but preferred the Glebe location, which I assume is the original one.
There are a lot of bagel places in Montreal other than the two that you always hear about, so it could be any number of ones that Kettleman's are looking to purchase.

Fairmount everything bagels are the best bagel creation I've ever eaten. Kettlemans, St-V and Bagelshop all pale in comparison. St-V and Kettlemans have been guilty of rancid tasting sesame bagels. I spotted Cadmans bagging Kettlemans wholesale sesame bagels, probably for Costco or some other wholesale contract? At any rate. We have no shortage of great fresh bagels in Ottawa AND Montreal, I wish him well, but I just don't see it thriving in Mtl. It's a tough market and people are very loyal. Time will tell.

On the surface it seems a bit silly for a Montreal-style bagel shop to expand into the city after which its products are modeled, but Kettleman's bagels are really awesome! I'd put them on par with the iconic product sold at St-Viateur and way ahead of the strangely popular Fairmount dreck, which I've found to be icky sweet and dry to the point of stale even when eaten within 2 minutes of purchase. #troll
From the article, the "iconic Montreal bagel shop" that Kettleman's is looking to purchase is definitely not St-Viateur. Could it be Fairmount (yay!) or a slightly less iconic shop like Beaubien? In any case, I congratulate Mr Buckley on his intestinal fortitude and wish him all the best with this expansion.
What should Ottawa export next? Poutine to Quebec? Coffee and sushi to Vancouver? An air of superiority to Toronto? 🤣
