Chinese Restaurant à la Vancouver [Food/Vendor]

2007 Dec 12
I am wondering if anyone can recommend a BIG Chinese restaurant in Ottawa of a higher quality than our Yangtze and Chu Shing. Specifically, a restaurant that is similar in quality (and ambience) to the one's in Vancouver. We need it to be fairly big because we need it to be able to accommodate a dinner for 21 family members.
Thanks in advance.

Is Toronto too far? ;-)

Seriously, your choices here are few. I think your best bet might be Mandarin (Ogilvie) Mandarin Ogilvie. Not to say that it's necessarily better food than Yangtze, but it is a little quieter and less cramped.

Dream On !!

I was there 1978, in Hong-couver, in my first ever REAL chinese restaraunt (not a fork in sight, for this young homesick Cape Bretoner). 'Why was it on the second floor ?', I kept asking myself.

Into the now: I've never hit the Mandarin before, but I'll put my money on two that may do the job;

1) Ging Sing Ging Sing especially for their #133 Stir Fried Eggplant Szechwan Style (eat in or take out) ottawafoodies.com/food/440

2) DongLing DongLing for their #A2 Pan Fried Green Onion Bread. The damn thing must weight near 2 1/2 pounds. (recommend take-out only ... can only seat just a few) ottawafoodies.com/food/415
