New Openings 2015 (continued x 2) [Food/Vendor]

I'm not sure there was ever a Red Lobster in there but it was a Joey's Only seafood restaurant before it was the Firkin & Knight. The Dunn's on Preston St didn't survive for very long, not sure this location will do well either but I am pleased to hear of another breakfast option opening up in that neighbourhood.

There was a Red Lobster there before, also a dance school in the same building and a sports store.
I remember going there as a kid!
The Red Lobster is now where the Olive Garden used to be.
I really liked the Olive Garden, the breadsticks, salad and fried zucchini, cheese sticks were always so good!

Speaking of Mandarin Buffet Restaurant... I was at Mandarin Ogilvie last weekend and the owner was complaining to my bro's father-in-law (a loyal customer for many years) that the new Mandarin was trying to force him to change the name of his restaurant. He said no way, because he's been in business for 27 years. But I see from Wikipedia that the Mandarin Restaurants have been operating in Ontario since 1979 (~36 years). That could get messy.
I don't care what the name is as long as we can still get tasty food!

I think Dunn's is looking to cash in on the closure of Nates on Merivale by opening in the Loblaw's mall not far away.
Well, maybe not 'cash in', because that's a fairly mediocre location for anything. If the big chain restaurants have a hard time, maybe a smaller chain can make it work.
Still, it's pretty big for a Dunn's. Maybe half of it will be a proper smokehouse so they don't have to truck in from Montreal (if they're still doing that).

Does Dunn's actually smoke their own food?
I kind of doubt it and thought they just used the packaged meats?
I don't think any deli here actually makes their own smoked meats.
Bank st sausage does and their smoked chicken is great!
Dunn's is still good though and the ones downtown are open 24h a day. Stuff in Nepean is never open late-unless you count Rockwell's on Merivale rd.

OSoloMeal, I believe it's a Red Pepper Thai-Viet (like the one on Bank). So a second location for them (as far as I know, as the first one is still open, I think).
Never been to the one on Bank but prices were much higher than on the website (though the website's prices might just be outdated for the Bank location). Food was fine though.

PAPA'S PIZZA opened on Bank, below (south of) Sunnyside where Buttercream Bakery used to be.
Looks like a standard takeaway counter.... anyone tried?
Just above Sunnyside an empty storefront next to Wag has a sign up that pizza place Panaza? Panzera? ... Pansomething... is opening their "186th store".
...looks like Milano will finally have some competition in that end of town.

As for the new place near Sunnyside would it be Panera perhaps? I think they already have a location in Riverside South but a store more centrally located would be nice. I have been to their resto in Toronto and am not terribly fond of their bread but they certainly seem to be popular...

(Before we start, yes the double continued was intended)
It looks like the former site of the Firkin and Knight/Red Lobster/other failed restos next to the Merivale Loblaws has signs up proclaiming it's going to be the latest Dunn's in the city.
