Dry Ice in Ottawa/Gatineau [General]

Does anyone know where to purchase dry ice in the area? I'm looking for something to cool down smoke in a smoker that would perform better than water ice.

Better ask whether it is food grade though - we have a machine at work and it says right on it that it is not

Bumping this up. Does anyone know where to buy dry ice in smaller quantities than sold by praxair?

Get one of those home ice cream maker canisters that you freeze for a couple of days in the freezer. They are capable of absorbing a lot of heat quickly. You can then put it back in the freezer to regenerate.

Similarly an ice (frozen water) and salt mixture in a bag will get very cold quickly. Probably cheaper then dry ice and not perishable. Dry ice will sublimate and leak away.

The answer is: no. There is no place to get smaller quantities. You used to be able to get it at party supply stores, but those are getting harder to find.
