Downtown dinner suggestions [General]

HI... My Husband and I are going to see Wicked Saturday night downtown at the National Arts Center. Any suggestions on where to have dinner before the show? I dont have any specific place in mind. Just a nice place for date night. Thanks!!!

Would you be my guinea pig and try the Carleton Grill in the Sheraton? Ottawa mag rates it high, apparently some hot shot new French chef. They also recommend Wilfrid's at the Chateau Laurier.

For a less formal environment, but still very good food, I'd recommend the Greek Souvlaki Shack on Bank at Cooper.

Try Murray Street, they have a great patio which is romantic for "Date Night"
Also the Metropolitan, they have a great happy hour with lots of food until 7pm.

Shore Club at the Westin, just over the bridge.

Bacon I.V. I recently went to a Japanese dinner that was done at the Carleton Grill in the Sheraton. My expectations were low for this type of banquet fare, and we were really blown away by the excellent quality of the food, especially the fish.

I think the Metropolitan happy hour is only weekdays.

Personally I like Murray Street, Domus, but le Cafe at NAC could be decent too.

Saw Wicked in London a few years ago and you should have a good time chcatl.

I'm happy to report that the Shore Club was a fantastic dining experience. The staff was very attentive and knowledgable. I had Sea Bass and my husband had Filet Mingnon. To start I had a beet and goat cheese salad and the hubs had lobster bisque. For our sides we shared asparagus and scalloped potatoes. Very generous portions that are meant to be shared. Sincere needed to get to the NAC, no time for dessert, but they did look fabolus as they passed by us.

Great recommendation!!!!! Thanks everyone!!!
