I'll second Lapointe's in Kanata. Great menu, solid selection of beer on tap, unique interior. Very good chowders; I like the lobster one best. The Whaler is about the biggest fish sandwich I've ever seen, and it's awesome. Great bun to boot. With the "combo" you can opt for fries, salad, or chowder. Very good fries, but ever since I've tried the chowder, I've never strayed from it.

Pelican is good, but lately they have been refusing to do take out orders as their dining room is too busy.
has happened to me 4 times already...
I like Merivale fish market and Whalesbone.
Red lobster is good too- but not for actual fish.
I like the appetizer menu that has stuffed mushrooms, chicken fingers and cheese sticks~

Another vote here for Pelican Grill.
Also: only two reviews (both very good) here on OF for Flippers in the Glebe. I rarely hear anything about this restaurant and I wonder why. It's been in business for thirty (!) years. Recently, friends/a couple revealed to me they go there quite often and it's always excellent and the staff is experienced and wonderful.

Shucked oyster tray was reasonable. $30/dozen, presented in a plastic tray with lots of ice to keep them cool ($22 unshucked). You could mix and match oysters from different locales, which I thought was fun as I was picking this up for an oyster virgin. They were great IMO, not that I'm an oyster pro by any means, but they seemed more fresh than some I picked up at Lapointes a year or two ago.
The only thing missing was that they did not come with any accompaniments. It would have been a nice touch to include a few slices of lemon, a bit of fresh horseradish and maybe one other sauce. (although I do like mine au natural) The fish monger there (didn't catch his name) mentioned that they usually have the horseradish around during Christmas time when the shucked trays are more popular.

Crazy enough-had lunch at Flippers yesterday - and I haven't been there in a very long time. At lunch on a Friday it was about 1/2 full-sure it would fill up with regulars for dinner. The food was excellent, server reserved but knew the menu (she told us there was only one stuffed sole left on handing out the menues)and was very efficient. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced and portioned. We all had a "cup" of soup to start-2 had the seafood chowder (mussels and salmon + vegetables) and one daily soup of carrot-ginger. The cup is actually a small bowl for $4 and the bowl is only $5 and comes with a very nice baguette which was replenished. Both soups were delicious and very reasonably priced.
Lunch specials are very reasonably priced and all 3 selections we had were great. My daughter had the pickerel with lemon and capers and it was served with a generous portion of steamed vegetables and lemon rice. Son had a crab and avocado wrap with a salad of greens and a very nice dressing. I ordered the appetizer Crab cakes which were delicious though a little too salty for me. Son thought they were good. These came with a small salad. Everything was delicious and the plates other customers were enjoying around us looked great. There is a "fish Of the day" available in your choice of cooked-3 ways. Desserts are delicious (same as Von's downstairs) and there is a decent wine selection-some by the glass/1/2 bottle/house. Very good value and great food.
I guess the only (mild) complaint is that the decor is a tad outdated and the place could use a dusting and freshening up.

Todric's always has a fish of the day or week on their menu- it changes all the time.
But every time I tried it - the fish was very fresh and had different seasonings.
Also Todric's should have some appetizers with seafood, I haven't checked the menu lately but did have a nice scallop dish in the fall.
the menu changes every season and they post the new menu online, but the fish of the week is never on there.
