big turkey [General]

Can anyone tell me if they know where I can get a 30lb turkey in ottawa, soon?
I got one last year, 32 lbs at the real food superstore (think its called) on Richmond, this year they said all they could get was a 24 pounder.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I am pretty positive that 'The Sausage Kitchen' in the Byward Market (across from Zak's) does special orders for Turkey's. Not sure how far in advance you need to get that in, but always worth a quick call. I know of a friend who ordered a 30 lb turket there. Cheers!

It's a bit of a drive but Bearbrook farms would likely be able to accommodate you.

I don't know if they have BIG turkeys, but Produce Depot is selling fresh grain fed turkeys for $1.99/lb.

For what it is worth, I am not a fan of big turkeys--they don't seem to cook as evenly in my hands, resulting the usual dry breast vs. undone dark meat trade-off. I would cook two smaller ones instead--just my preference.
