New Beer From Creemore Springs [Booze]
2009 Jul 18
I picked some up from the Rideau LCBO today. It's a very nice beer. It's lighter tasting than I expected (given that it says "Generously Hopped") but it's a lager I suppose; still quite a nice summer beer. I hope this will be a regular seasonal from them.
It seemed to be going pretty fast (unless they have more in the back). It hasn't registered on the LBCO web page yet so I don't know how many cases they have available.
The case says to keep it refrigerated but the LCBO had it sitting out on the floor. It was fairly prominently displayed near the front of the store, so perhaps it won't last long enough to suffer.

Picked up a couple cans this afternoon from the LCBO at Rideau and King Edward (If you only want a couple they'll break open one of the cases of eight).
It's a delicious, refreshing lager. I do concur with Inkling in that I was expecting hoppier, but that's not necessarily a complaint: this has a good amount of bitterness in the aftertaste to keep it interesting.
Good job!

Hey Guys
Sorry for the slow response, I was on vacation last week with no internet.
Glad you folks enjoyed the beer. Officially it is only at the Rideau store, although some other may choose to sell it. We expect it to only be around for about 8 weeks, we are only going to package about 80,000 cans.
We are very happy with the product but like some of you thought it might need a bit more hop. I will let you know when the next batch is packaged. it should be a bit more hoppy.
Cheers
Karen

I made it over to the Rideau/King Edward location and picked up a couple of cases of the new beer. I have to say this is the best Creemore offering I've ever tasted. Even better to hear that the next batch might live up to the tagline on the can. :)
Please consider brewing Kellerbier more often!!

Thanks, Karen, for the response. I appreciate that it's really difficult to get something like hoppiness perfected. There's always that push-and-pull between depth of flavour and bitterness that you have to keep in mind.
How nerdy it will be to go into the LCBO and say "I'm looking for Creemore Kellerbier produced after July 27th: can you help me out?"

I have not been here for a awhile but thought I would let you know about a new beer Creemore has released. It is call Creemore Springs Kellerbier. This is a limited release in only about 100 LCBO stores and should only be around for a month or two. Check out what Stephen Beaumont had to say.

It is available at the Rideau street store.
