Local grain options [Food/Vendor]

I am having a "100-mile" dinner in a few months for some skeptical friends. I have most of the basics covered -- meat, veggies, potatoes, etc., but am looking for suggestions for buying local grains -- wheat, oats, etc. Anyone know of anywhere I might find them?

www.mountainpath.com might have some from within 100 miles, but not sure. The organic oats I get are from southern ontario, but they have a variety

Logoff - Watson's Mill in Manotick is the only locally working historic grist mill.... so there has to be "product" from them somewhere in the region. If no one else has anything specific to offer, you might start by calling them at (613) 692-6455.

Upper Canada Village also has a working mill, but not sure if they are still open and where they source their grain. The flour is quite nice for bread. They should make the 100 mile limit. Their website is:www.uppercanadavillage.com

IIRC there is also a working mill on the way to Montreal ... don't recall the name of the village though.

Thanks for the info. I will follow up and see what I can do.

Two sources that I know of are Market Organics and both Herb & Spice locations: they carry Mountain Path products (mentioned above and, YES, locally grown and milled) including their white and whole wheat flours in the bulk section.

For liquid forms see: www.ottawafoodies.com/tag/113 :)

Looks like Watson's Mills in Manotick grounds it's own flour on specific days. Not sure it's available all year round, but I will call and find out. Here is the link:
