Foods from Sitar

I guess this is my first review after lurking for years! I've been trying various Indian restaurants in an attempt to find one that betters Sitar and so far, no luck.

I started my adventures in Indian food at the Sitar almost 30 years ago. Never have I found the same complex flavours in Indian cuisine as here. Nor have I found Naan so delicate and flavourful! My favourites are: Onion Bahji (lightly spiced and not overly doughy with a 'to die for' sauce), Butter Chicken (creamy and very flavourful with large chunks of chicken), Chicken Tandoori (beautifully marinated with a nice smokey charcoal flavour), Tarka Dall (amazing with Naan), Mixed Vegetable Bhaji (amazing blend of vegetables with just the right of amount of spices blended in), Muttar Paneer (peas and slightly fried Paneer), and any of the Biryanis. The sauces are always so good that I want to mop up every last bit with Naan!

The lunch buffet is one of the best although limited in size/selection but the Naan really suffers by losing it's crispy edges and crust (as always in a buffet setting).

Good selection of beers and desserts.

Service has much improved but when things get really busy, can be a bit slow.

REALLY good Indian food. I highly recommend it.

We often went at this restaurant for dinner with the family and never got disappointed. I never tried their lunch buffet though.

Went to many Indian restaurants and Sitar
certainly is the place to go for aromatic, delicious lamb biryani. Spiced to perfection and generous portion. I'm hooked! :)
