We decided to pop by Saigon for a quick late dinner the other night. My date and I had eaten there quite awhile ago and enjoyed the food enough to want to go back. Nothing amazing but decent enough.
We both ordered two vermicelli dishes: mine had grilled beef & shrimp and I believe his had a mix of grilled meat. Our meals were good; we just felt as though it was lacking a little something. We really enjoyed the 'basic' vermicelli dishes from another Vietnamese place in the market (Sweet-Art). Unfortunately, this place was not quite as good.
The service was okay; nothing really great but definitely nothing to complain about.
I probably wouldn't highly recommend this restaurant to anyone but it's worth a try!
Had another nice lunch here today: Big serving of vermicelli with grilled beef and pork and a springroll for $9.00. Nothing fancy, but a nice rendition of the classic dish. Dining room is pleasant and service is always very solid.
On the overall, this is a great little vietnamese restaurant! I particularly love the vermicelli meals and combos (with pork or chicken), such as #17. Desserts are really yummy too... the one with bananas is delicious! :-)
